I thought one of trump's gravest flaws was his contempt for muh institutions and muh rule of law?
politico: dems warm to expanding supreme court
This is insane.
I find it soooo surprising that our resident moderate, anti-trump posters (texridder, _mb, doucheterry etc) are completely silent on this madness.....

Sens. Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren and Kirsten Gillibrand told POLITICO they would not rule out expanding the Supreme Court if elected president, showcasing a new level of interest in the Democratic field on an issue that has until recently remained on the fringes of debate.

Expanding the Supreme Court would amount to a historic power play by the next Democratic president and Congress, requiring an intense legislative fight and the abandonment of many judicial and congressional norms.
This is insane.

This is the mindset that strong-armed the SCOTUS into greenlighting the New Deal, which vastly expanded the reach (and thus power) of the federal government by creating a deep financial dependence on it by the populace.

Would be hilarious if Trump named 5 new appointees to thecourt today and came out in full support of the gang bang queen and the rest of the Dems running.

If they really support packing the court they need to do it right now. House can pass the bill today if they want.

The Europeans at least have the benefit of being invaded and destroyed by outsiders.
In America, the Left are hell-bent on destroying our country from within.
The Left are a deadly disease, you cannot negotiate or reason with a deadly disease.

If you look up Tyranny of the Majority, this is what shows up.

Democrats are basically daring their opponents into a shooting war

I wish President Trump would (every couple of days or so) start DEMANDING an expansion of the Supreme Court so the supreme c&nts on the Left would lose their mind and go on record against it.

He and Turtle (and a few of the fence-sitters like Collins and Murkowski) should get together and propose adding 25 seats to the court. Then have his own AG challenge the constitutionality.
Such a drastic step will result in one of the following:
1) The USSC will find some reason to strike it down, thereby setting a precedent and preemptively thwarting the Dem's efforts.
2) Congress will pass a law limiting the USSC to current numbers, preemptively thwarting the Dem's efforts.
3) The USSC will see a never-ending expansion of seats, thereby exposing it as the political branch that it truly is.

Going all in.
Eric Holder
?
@EricHolder
Time to do away with the power of the anti-democracy -and polarizing -Electoral College. States should cast their votes for the national popular vote winner, not who won the state. Person who gets the most votes from the American people should be President

After 8 years of President “I have a pen & a phone”, Democrats want to:
- eliminate the Electoral College
- pack the Supreme Court
- limit the 1st Amendment
- limit the 2nd Amendment
Now tell us again how Trump is undermining the Constitution?

As to other threads, I have said repeatedly that court-packing is a bad move, and I have not been alone. By contrast, several of the Trumpophants have suggested that Trump try to do a preemptive court-packing of his own. (EDIT:
Someone should just propose an Amendment setting the number of SCOTUS Justices, before SCOTUS looks like the Imperial Senate.

There was a thread or two on court packing here a week or so ago when Eric Holder opened his big, racist mouth and endorsed the idea.

The left is on record
This will come down to either totalitarian left control or war.
They will not allow a 3rd option

If you don’t win, the system is unfair and needs to be fundamentally changed

In light of this, wouldn't it be prudent for the GOP to start legislation on this now?
Does this have to originate in the house?
