A little insight into why there are so many RINOs across the country

This may just be anecdotal, but I believe this to be a similar situation across the country.
I have pretty big lefty neighbor. They had Biden and "in this house we believe" signs up all of 2020. I know that the mom (who is extremely obese and has to get new knee operation every year it seems) is pretty active in the local Democrat party and had her daughters out campaigning for Democrats in 2020.
My area is basically all Red, and there is not much chance of any Democrat getting elected around here. So I noticed they put up a yard sign recently for a Republican running in a primary for a state house seat (the RINO in the race). I happened to see the effeminate husband out in his yard, and had to ask "are you guys Republicans?". And he said yes, they are all registered Republicans.
Then got curious and asked a few people I know in my local Republican party committee, and the answer I got was that the state Democrat party encourages everyone in strong red areas to register Republican and vote for the weakest Republican in every primary. And that their votes are more effective if they can weaken the Republican party, instead of worrying about the Democrats who don't have a chance in the generals.
I wonder how frequent this is across the country? Also has me wondering, is this a strategy that should be implemented by Reoublicans in strong blue areas? Register as Democrat candidates in big cities and try to push the most weak moderate Democrats forward that may still be appealing to a certain percentage of that base.

Lot of them obviously among the 81 million in 2020.

the DNC has closed primaries so only dimrats can vote on their cadidates, the RNC doesnt so every dimrat can vote for the gop candidates and, as you mentioned, we end up with the choice only between the romneys and mccains to vote for
the RNC has been fully corrupted for at least the last 20 years the last time there were any real republicans still uin the party was back with reagan as POTUS
the final takeover was during GW bush as they openly stripped all conservatives from any position of power saying the party needed to be more progressive. thats when the mcconnels became kings and have controlled everything since to make sure the uniparty is all that matters

Then why did y'all call candidates like McCain and Romney sexist racists?

We have to ask ourselves why there is no
Democrat
In
Name
Only
Tribe.
Lefty districts don’t have this option.
That would answer a lot of questions.

Like a moth to a flame all it takes is a mention of the word "RINO" and FaggieHank comes running to defend. Pathetic.
Nice job OP!

I doubt AggieHank voted for Biden. He implied that he was a long time Republican. He has an avatar picture of Bill Buckley, who was the father of the modern conservative Republican party. In short, judging from his post, his past posts, and his avatar, I’d say he is like me - a true conservative, not a Rino and not a populist like Trump.
I voted for Trump both times and lavished money on his campaigns. I liked a lot of what Trump did, and he made me laugh for five years. I appreciate that he taught Republicans to take off the gloves and reject the asymmetrical warfare of the past. However, Trump is an ego maniac, and as President, he demands fealty to the point of a personality cult, which is dangerous. I’d like to see Trump on the sideline doing what he does best, lampooning the smug left. I’d guess AggieHank would agree with most of that.

…just woke up from a two year nap in which he missed Sinema and Manchin submarining 70% of the Democrat Party agenda. And Sinema stated that there were at least five other Senators who would vote with her if they had to, but they were staying under cover. THOSE are DINOs.
I pointed this out earlier in the thread with the bizarre assertion that Hitler was a leftist - Some on here just don’t read enough, or else they only read opinions that align with their own. If you read ANY leftist journals you would hear the same theme mirrored by their narrow minded partisans. “Why is it that we can’t get in step, but the Republicans are always in lockstep?”

I’d guess AggieHank would agree with most of that.
I just prefer a statesman at 1600 Pennsylvania, and my entertainment on late night TV.
Once upon a time, I called myself a conservative, but that term has come to be so closely associated with SoCons, that I now prefer “textualist” and “small government proponent.”

I spend most of my day working and not posting on here. Someone has to pay the taxes so your RINO and Democrat idols can dole out entitlements like drunken sailors.

bullshite. And if you didn’t vote for Biden, then you probably didn’t vote at all or threw your vote away on a third party candidate, which was the same as a vote for Biden.

It happens some, but the reason why the democrats are so much more hard core has more to do with the national leadership.
Take Dan Lipinsky for example. Dan was from the 5th district (I think) in Illinois. A true blue liberal on almost every issue - pro-gay marriage, pro-rainbow crowd in general, tax the rich, etc. The one and only issue he was out of step with the national party on was Dan was pro-life. The national party starved him of funds, primaried him repteadly, and eventually were able to get him out of office.
The democrats expect a complete uniformity.

I’m with you. There is an interesting movement going on right now that we haven’t seen in 100 years. The parties are switching positions and constituents. Blacks and hispanics are moving toward the Republicans and college educated whites have moved to the Democrats. Most of the donations from wealthy people have gone to Democrats. The Democrats have held all three law making branches and have not raised taxes. Even though they keep saying they want to, they don’t have the votes.
When Buckley was in his heyday it was he, Reagan and Milton Friedman pushing for global free trade; now it’s the Dems. Of course, there was no security risk in it back then, as there is now. And the Republicans are pushing protectionism.
The small government conservatism that you and I value has no voice today. Trump and Biden try to outspend each other.

See my post above. AggieHank hides behind Bill Buckley. He is against fighting the leftists as they fight conservatives. He turns his nose up at those that are for it. He would be what’s wrong with conservatives, if he was one.

It's way simpler than that. They are basically a bunch of pussies afraid of being called racist or supremacist, so they go along to get along.

If there had been any indication whatsoever that Texas might be close, I would’ve held my nose and voted for the useless bastard. I probably would’ve regurgitated my lunch in the parking lot, but I would’ve done it.
