If it gets shut down, it could potentially affect the start of tax season, depending on how long it stays shut down, it'll affect W2 filing with SSA, and if you are a CPA, it'll most definitely affect your ability to contact the IRS.

Let’s shut it down for a month or so and then tell them we will open it back until if everyone comes back to actual work in person. I’m sure tails will be tucked as they come back groveling. Might even appreciate their jobs.

Because it's more painful to "shut it ALL down". Even if not legal or necessary. They shut down... and then when they open back up, people get back pay for the time they were off when they were shut down... so.. what's even the point of shutting down? It's just theatrics.

Where’s the list you did consult to confirm your assertion that you wouldn’t be affected? Please allow us to look at the same thing.

Federal contractor. And how it would affect me and the government workers we support:

.

We may not have as much work as we normally do -- in fact, we'll probably sit around and still get paid. Ain't it great?

I was already for the shutdown, you didn’t need to convince me further

You get it.

No one else here does. Everybody here lives in some kind of fantasy world where they think a sitting President can actually shut it all down. They can't. They can't even come close to doing that. In fact, Congress has more power in that regard and you see how successful they've been with all this.

So then just shut it down except for military. Leave it shut down for a year. I don’t know what I’ll do without the alphabet soup agencies.

A shutdown is basically an even more free paid vacation for worthless G employees.

They won’t lose a dime of our stolen tax money.

A shutdown is a great deal for them.

Only for those who have savings to hold them for the duration of the shutdown, however long that may be.

Those who live paycheck to paycheck will be

I’m a federal employee and I say shut it the frick down.

This combination of DJT, Vance, Musk & DOGE. Plus an American mandate

We’ll never have this much power again in our lifetime to affect real change.

Do it, hold the line
