Bad news, Sugarbritches. We are still out here. Your soy latte won’t protect you from a predator when the SHTF...but a firearm will.

these are not hunting rifles, also this is 2019 you don't have a need to be in the woods hunting. We have a society now that hunters and gatherers have evolved. We as a society have evolved to where we don't have to go through the woods to kill dinner anymore, people don't have to do it now, they only choose to do it for sport, like playing golf, or they just feel the need to be a predator and hunt and kill weaker prey.

The past is full of civilizations who believed they had broken free from the forces of history and their comfortable lifestyles would last eternally. Their descendants invariably found themselves in less fortunate circumstances. Passing down the skills needed to harvest game is a serious responsibility in my mind, even if the necessity might be generations away. I taught my two step-daughters when they young and I've taught lots of semi-fatherless boys whose mothers passed in and out of my life when I was single.

And on a non-political note, killing a deer and dropping it off at the processor isn't teaching a kid to hunt. From the field to the table or you're justspinning your wheels.

I remember seeing an estimate of 30M plus a couple of years ago

Maybe the 30M number is ALL similar rifles, not just AR15 platform

You think you're gonna go to jail for 50 years for using your gun responsibly for the purpose it was intended...

The context in which I said that was a scenario whereby guns are already banned. I know you're not very good at reading, but try to keep up.

Any jail time for self defense is too much, but if you outlaw his choice of self defense he would see jail time for owning an illegal weapon. Who is the government to decide which platform a person feels comfortable protecting their own life and property?

So has a Republican President.

This isn't a left vs right thing, it's a "gun lunatics' vs 'sane people' thing

30 round mag

the worst school shooting was VT and ended with 32 dead. carried out by a guy with a glock and 10 round mags

Don’t forget that Spartacus compared getting a gun to getting a driver’s license and said that everyone should have to get a license in order to own a gun.

I think that 30M is likely a VERY conservative guesstimate of those that made it across a counter with a 4473.

Care to guess how many of the Ultra Scary ghost guns are out there walking around with no numbers or paper trails?

AR-15 types

Not an “assault weapon “. It’s a semi automatic rifle.

This is why it’s so hard to take you people seriously.

Evil scary “ghost gun”

Semi automatic rifle

First one is nothing but a .22. Last one shoots 7.62 rounds.

This

And this

And this

All fire the same cartridge.

But scary ghost gun and stuff.
