6 dollar/gallon diesel in Corpus Christi yesterday, recession is coming fast

That huge sucking noise got louder , Oil companies are removing discretionary income from the economic engine. Folks in the north east will be hit hard as home heating oil prices have doubled also.
Cost of production in the west Texas oil fields stays the same while Exxon/Mobile doubles the price based on shortages on the other side of the world. That is simply disaster profiteering.
What can you do? Cut back on restaurants, leisure travel, delay expenditures to avoid the trap of putting fuel expense on a credit card you can't pay off. And so the down ward economic spiral grows.
Oh and by-the-way avoid the stock market because of the economic spiral before the market collaspes due to others avoiding the stock market

I love how all of a sudden as of yesterday everyone is concerned about diesel.
If you weren't concerned about diesel 9 months ago (muh gas prices) you need to educate yourself much deeper on how the global economy works.
Hint: it works on diesel and bunker fuel.

By the way the previous record high was set in 2022.
Everything you say should have happened already. And if you adjust for inflation, it means diesel was actually higher than it is now.

By whose definition?
There’s the tried and true definition that everyone uses- two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth.
But, there’s also the Biden Administration definition, where they said “nuh uh” to any mention of a recession, regardless of what the numbers showed, and rejected the decades old accepted definition.

I won’t argue that costs are high. But I find it funny that all of a sudden we’re headed for recession and doom because diesel hit $6/ gallon.
Don’t know what you drive, but anyone driving a diesel powered vehicle should be reevaluating their needs if fuel starts to make that much of a difference.

That's California already. Elsewhere it was the same in 2022 as it is now.

Recession isn’t coming, but stagflation is, and that’s almost worse.
I drove basically the entirety of i65 in Alabama yesterday. Over 6.50 at almost every truck stop.
