The left HATES private schools for two reasons.

They feel the problem with public schools is that all the 'good' kids go to private schools. So banning private schools will force the 'good' kids to attend public school.

They also hate private schools because they can't control what is taught. Banning private schools will ensure all children are properly indoctrinated to liberalism and socialism.

A) Sending kids to private school takes no resources away from public. I pay both tuition and taxes.

B) Nice to have 87 flags and all. I live in Northern Minnesota. The schools are blindingly white and insular. My kids go to a private school with students recruited from several other countries. Maybe, just maybe, there are differences from the bubble she lives in.

C) I’ve already wasted more time on this topic than it deserves.

Leftists want to hold progress back. They want forced equality, not equal opportunity. They want your kids to be as stupid and poorly educated as their kids, or they want everyone else’s kids to be stupid and poorly educated and their kids to be smart and well educated. They want to hold us down and prevent those of us that can do better from doing so

How much of an arrogant pr*ck must one be to have this attitude thst they should have the authority to tell everyone else how they should live.

They accuse Trump of being to be a dictator. Yet they are the ones that want to dictate how others live and behave.

This is part of the reason I oppose school vouchers.

At some point the Powers That Be will force the voucher-taking schools to teach "correct doctrine" (e.g. homosexuality is OK, abortion is OK, all religions are equally valid--except Christianity) or lose the funding.

What's best for society is for parents to act according what's best for their child. This woman is simple.

Yeah, I chuckled at that. Progressives love to assign value to things that are completely valueless and the "private schools aren't representative of the real world" is the probably the most egregious example of it.

When I hear this, I always ask how does this affect outcomes. Are private school children in Louisiana doing worse once they've graduated and moved into adulthood compared the public school counterparts?

Oh, they perform astronomically better? So what's the problem again?

It's already been tried. The Dartmouth case. Supreme Court ruled that private schools have the right to exist and cannot be taken over by the public sector.

The sacred tenets of progressivism

Public ed: Regardless of quality
Government health care: regardless of quality
Firearm prohibition: regardless of effectiveness in deterring crime
"Free college:". Regardless of quality
Climate change: Fueled by hysteria
Muh dead babies: sacrifices at the alter of population control
Muh fabricated pronouns: celebrating mental illness

All fueled by emotion, not reason.

Because they are Communists or Communists-Lite aka Socialists. Why should YOU be able to work hard and send your kids to a private school when certain others can’t? The sheer audacity of you to think you should be able to do that with YOUR hard earned money!!!
