Read Mitt’s summary of the proposal. Looks like there is a cap.
quote:
Parents of kids ages 0 to 5 would get $350 per month, or $4,200 a year
Parents of kids ages 6 to 17 would get $250 per month, or $3,000 a year
Parents with multiple kids could get a maximum of $1,250 per month or $15,000 a year; that translates to five kids between the ages of 6 and 17.
Very large families would be somewhat penalized, but many families with three or four kids will get the full benefit.

Now we know why Romney had those binders full of women.

Hmmmm....Excel would put an error on that formula.
Seriously. When does the brain trust realize you can not divide by zero? It’s like they have no concept of if you change X it will effect Y. They seem to base all their decisions on we will change X and Y will remain constant.
We have all these tax dollars so we can pay everyone to just live and not have to work. Ok but what happens when nobody works and there are no tax dollars? We will just take it from the rich with their big profits. Ok, but they don’t have big profits now bc nobody is working and pretty much every business has shutdown. Then we will make everyone work so we can have taxes to pay everyone but we will decide when and where they work. Oh, OK communism. No, equality of outcomes. But it’s not equal, I am a Dr and I have to work my arse off all day seeing people now that everything is free and the McDonald’s worker who makes as much as me only works a 5 hour shift. That is your privilege talking, you should do what is best for all. But what happens when everyone wants to work at McDonald’s instead of being a Dr. Well, we will not let that happen. So, communism?

quote:Hard to be more wrong than this. While true manual labor is experiencing deflation -- that's been the case since the industrial revolution. If you're making buggy whips and wagon wheels you shouldn't expect to make a great living. Has nothing to do with "boomers".
We’re moving towards a post-work society because greedy boomers haven’t raised wages in line with inflation and cost of living increases. The price of everything has gone up, except labor. That’s why new home ownership is at all time lows, birth rates are at all time lows, etc. Kids living with their parents long into their 20s because they don’t have enough money to buy the things their parents did, thanks to boomer greed.

Right. The faster we can get this "money" worthless the faster we can collapse the system and make DC worthless.
If the new credit/debt isn't created at the rate (interest) need to sustain the system, the money i.e. credit/debt becomes worthless as well.
Any system based on interest will be very finite, a generation or two because man doesn't have unlimited power.
Eventually rates will have to go negative across the board, and eventual collapse. Until then, party on... there is no escape from the use of interest.
We're actually not in the 4th quarter of the system, more like extended OT. Everything will be thrown at the issue but nothing will solve it other than collapse. In the meantime, the federal government will have to create the needed new credit or the system instantly collapses.

Need at least $200k here. $50k isn't going to cut it.

Illegal immigrants flooding into the country and stagnating labor costs is a direct result of boomer immigration policies and hiring practices.
I agree that illegal immigration is hurting low-skilled labor wages.
However, if you're competing against illegal immigrants for wages, then you need to do some introspection.

Well they’re ruining the country so it’s warranted.
Think maybe wages are low because we are importing millions of unskilled, uneducated labor across our southern border?

Outstanding idea. Should do wonders for the record percentage of children being born out of wedlock to white and black women alike.

There's a certain lifestyle that doesn't depend on making much money, but is focused on family and working hard.
I know some legal immigrant families that have done work for my family.
They work hard, live well, and don't need a 3,000 SF house for 3 people. Their homes are quaint, but well kept because that's what they do for a living. Their yards are well kept, and they believe in God.
They're better Americans than any rich liberal, all day, every day.

Oh I agree. I just hate the victim hood mentality. The fact of the matter is that if you were born and raised in the greatest country on earth and have no skills that make you marketable relative to illegal immigrants, you can't blame Boomers or anyone else.
