Never ending wars caused this. I also seen this strange situation. Military need cut numbers. They reviewed medical records. They medically retired members to get to their quote.

these threads always bring out the scammers in defense of scamming. and they ALL know that the huge majority of these vets are scamming the system, but they refuse to acknowledge it and then hype eachother up with righteous indignation. the more they defend the scamming, the more likely they are doing the same.

Probably discussed this already, but there are levels of VA disability. It's not an all or nothing proposition.

Wrong. There is no threshold for income on VA disability. What you are talking about is a very rare type. It is for people who they get 100% because they they can not hold a job because of their disability. If they are allowed to work in a protected environment for a family business then they are not allowed to be paid so much because really they shouldn't even be working. The only reason they got 100% is because they claimed they couldnt get a job. They also have to prove they live below the poverty level.

Now, you are free to disagree with the system but that doesn't make people utilizing it scammers by itself. So please define the scam you're referring to.

There's a recruiting station in just about every town, for those saying it's easy to get and being abused you should go sign up and get first hand experience.

Here's the problem. It's called VA Disability but in actuality it is essentially a workers compensation program for loss of function or quality of life as result of an injury while in service.

Some not all. You also don’t really know. Do you have any military experience? I can’t think of a FOB or deployed location that didn’t have admin troops. These bases do get attacked, an Airfield Manager (not generally considered a combat role) was killed by a mortar at Ballad in 2008, he wasn’t outside the wire or carrying a rifle, just doing the job he was told to do in a hostile location.

Buddy retired after 21 years 5 deployments. Second wife filed for divorce when he retired. He shipped me all of his guitars out of the blue. I called his mom to check up on him, she told me allen took his own life sitting in the church parking lot.
File and seek help if you have any issues, is my advice.

As a vet, there does need to be some changes but to all these keyboard warriors, the recruitment offices are open and I’ve never seen a line. If I had a nickel for every guy who tried to join but had a heart murmur or a salty vag, I’d rival Elon. Even the easiest of positions in the Air Force or Navy put a tremendous strain on your body and you have to sacrifice time away from everything you love.
