Not saying you should feel bad or that you are sitting around sucking up benefits. I am merely stating that people join the military and stay in the military for a reason and it isn't solely altruistic sacrifice.
My brother is an E7 (active ANG). he's staying until 20 years because that's the best option for him financially. his current pay and benefits plus pension make the best deal for him right now. Same with a close friend who just made Lt. Col (active Army); he stayed in because the pay and benefits were hands down his best option for him and his family. I don't think it's wrong that that's the case for a lot of members of the military.
I'd rather not see the system get gamed, but I don't know a system that doesn't. Doesn't stop me from not liking it.

I think a reason of i am almost done my time to get my pension is fine. I am sure there are tons of jobs where people finish off their last few years to get their pensions or retirement benefits- that doesn't seem unusual to me.

I'm probably going to regret it one day, but I'm only going to claim benefits I believe I have earned. And in the 13 years I have served in the Armed Forces, I don't believe I have earned any disability benefits as of yet.

Yes you can. Have you never heard of training accidents? They are the leading cause of injuries to service members. Helicopter crashes, vehicle accidents, firing range mishaps. The list goes on and on.
The military even has compensation for it - CRSC (Combat Related Special Compensation). It's awarded if your injury was a direct result of combat related training.
You might want to rethink your position.
