What are some of the easily faked issues?
How are they fooling VA doctors that they have an injury that doesn't exist?
How are all these PTSD fakers able to fool psychiatric personnel?
You can't be serious. There are entire websites dedicated to coaching people through this, including those that refer you to their own doctors.

I imagine having to live with tinnitus would really suck.

Cool, thanks.
And don't forget to pay your taxes.

It's this sort of thinking that has allowed the fraud to creep in FYI, the fraudsters are ruining it and are taking away from the legit claims. You should want to tackle it instead of acting like it's untouchable just because someone served
What fraud? Veterans are examined physically and psychologically by doctors to get their benefit rating. Many veterans don’t even bother with trying to get their benefits. You can’t just make shite up. For every veteran that went out of their way to get more benefits than they deserve there’s another 10 that got less or nothing.
Once again you don’t know wtf you’re talking about because you’ve never had to live in a disgusting old barracks, or sleep in the field for weeks, or bake in the desert, or jump out of a plane, or carry a 70lb ruck on your back. You’ve never had to fight in a war or go years without seeing friends and family. You’ve probably never volunteered for anything in your life so you think it’s all fun and games. I don’t know any service members who didn’t have to endure some type of physical injuries or mental stress. Of course some service members may have had a nice job or gotten more than they deserve but most don’t. If you were able to exit the military honorably I can assure you they got their moneys worth out of you.
And if you really think the shite is so sweet why don’t you give it a try. Please please be my guest

No, I personally don't care.

Serving in the military takes its toll both mentally and physically
My father in law was in an Army infantry unit in Vietnam. He had a generally positive attitude about everything in his life including his military service. Being drafted right out of high school at 18 you could see it still had an impact on him his entire life. It hurt him watching his friends die. He talked about not wanting to get too close to anyone while he was there. It also hurt him coming home and having people shite all over him for his Vietnam service. War changes boys into men quickly. He never received disability.

I am aware of these sites, as is the VA. Coaching someone on what to say is not the same as faking an injury. The medical documentation must accompany the claim.

Sir, I’ve been informed this is crucial to MAGA 2026 and beyond.
This is not a joke.

This
The whole myth of 'Massive VA fraud' hinges on 'Look at how many more veterans getting disability there are as opposed to there were in the year 2000!!!' while forgetting about the decades of war

No one said there aren’t some fraudulent claims. The issue is it’s impossible to address that without changing the criteria for disability ratings that will inevitably lead to diminished benefits for all.
i agree that the horde of fraudulent claims have led to a situation that will most likely lead to diminished benefits for all. but that's the fault of the fraudsters, not the people who want to eradicate all the liars.

There is no horde of fraudulent claims. You’ve fallen for the rebranded propaganda of the American left designed to weaken and destroy our military.
This has been a stated goal since at least Vietnam. It appears they’ve finally found a willing partner in MAGA.

I stayed in touch with my squad from when I was in the army. I'm 54 years old and a Desert Shield/Storm vet.
Out of the 10 or so of us, 2 are dead, 5 are pretty jacked up physically and 3 of us are in normal/good health.
Just a random airborne squad in a transportation company.
The cost of military service can be quite high.

The U.S. military gave free cigarettes to soldiers starting in World War I to calm nerves in battle and ease boredom. During World War II and the Vietnam War, cigarette packs were standard in daily field ration kits. This practice ended in 1972 as health risks became clear.

Why the explosion after 2013, when we'd already been at war for 12 years?

I don't have it, but there's no physically observable anatomy change, making it the easiest thing to fake, and coincidentally is the highest claimed condition.
And as far as people saying that we shouldn't question any disability, it should tick you off that money is going to pay for people's phony claims and not more to those totally disabled or unable to work a regular job after they serve.

look, i trust that you are saying this in good faith, and you really just dont know what it's like right now, but i am tellign you that i see this shite every day. i know what i'm talking about. you've been over the top dickheaded to me in this thread for simply stating what I know to be true based on my own personal observation, first-hand knowledge, and experience, and that is that there is massive fraud in the system. and the messaging to every single kid serving today is exactly what i've seen in this thread - "you were underpaid, undervalued, mistreated and now it's time for you to get yours." i find that messaging personally and professionally insulting.
i'm not accusing you personally of anything, yet you are taking it as a personal attack on you and your service. if you are disabled from your service and you receive appropriate compensation based on legitimate claims, then my issue isnt with you at all. but you are taking very personally even the NOTION that there is fraud ANYWHERE.
the designed destruction of the military by the American left is this - getting hundreds of thousands, millions even, of otherwise conservative Americans hooked on that sweet Uncle Sugar paycheck in perpetuity. THAT'S the agenda, not some weird propaganda claim or whatever it is that you're saying to me.

I know three people who are rated 100% VA disability. Two physical, one mental. All three function better than I do physically. No idea on the mental side - I haven't had that discussion and don't plan to.
My point of reference is my 20% disability rating from a work related accident 35 years ago. By choice, I never received or asked for one red dime in disability payments. But 20% vs 100% is a big difference.

I’m on the board of a regional DAV chapter, dipshit. You’re misinformed despite our best efforts.
ETA:
Most likely you’ve been denied claims and have a personal vendetta against those you view less worthy of a higher rating than what you have.

No, the percentage makes it non-taxable for Federal. I never filed any claims when I seperated because I never had anything other than a issue with one of my feet. When I did put my name in the VA system for health benefits just this year, the lady who signed me up said I was likely eligible for some.
I've been out for over 25 years
