Do I think there is abuse of VA benefits. Sure. And it needs to be looked into.
But not before illegal and welfare recipients. Deal with those first, as well as fraudulent daycare businesses in democratic strongholds.
before, after, during, instead of....it doesnt matter. fraud is fraud. it is lying, and it is stealing. you should want it investigated and rooted out entirely completely independently of illegal welfare recipients.
this is the most common response from the scammers or the scammers adjacent - "sure maybe there is some fraud but we have to do [insert thing that everyone knows is never going to happen] before we address it!"
OP even called it out in his post.

My question is what kind of disability are we talking about? Because they are not the same.
You have soldiers who were injured during duty or war that rendered them to be unable to continue to serve and unable to be employed.
Then you have retirees who work to achieve disability which solely affects how much of their retirement income is taxable. So, they are still getting the amount they normally would, it's just how much of it is non-taxable.
On the latter, these people are still called disabled veterans but not the same as those mamed or wounded via duty or war.

So you didn’t make 20?
Everyone I know in this range has had knee replacements and hips. Yall are savages.
I have 20 years and 5 months active duty and am credited another 3 years on my retirement from inactive duty points. Those 3 years come from another 15 years as a drilling reservist. (for pay purposes over 35 years) Will eventually have to have some sort of knee surgery and probably some more work on my feet.

Are you having mortars and rockets launched at you while you are doing your job. Do you have snipers taking pop shots at you when you go to your job? Its crazy how naive a bunch of you are about it. Yes, they have cooks, it and admin people in places like Kandahar and Ballad. They live, sleep and work in places where mortars are launched into the base, Rpgs are shot into the base. Snipers sit in the hills and take shots into the base.

There it is. Poor victim got his feelings hurt again
You call combat veterans welfare queens and then cry like a bitch when one correctly identifies who and what you are.
You don’t have the testicular fortitude to come for VA benefits. Be honest. You’re only running your man pleaser from the comfort of your anonymity online.
Is this the official position of MAGA? Need you people on record so I can pass that along at the next DAV board meeting when we’re discussing our future endorsements.
TIA.

Numerous states don't tax regular military retirement.

People like you I would never argue against being on it.
The issue is with a lot of the much younger people. As noted ITT, a lot of them have been going on Caleb Hammer's show, and there is a lot of backlash growing from it. It is no longer taboo to file fake claims or exaggerate for many.

of the two of us, who sounds like they have hurt feelings?
i called scammers VA welfare queens. if you have legitimate service related disabilities that you are collecting payments on, then i fully support you.

Again, this attitude is why the ones who do make fraudulent claims can prevail
It is like every other program in that the bad ruin it for those who need it. We should want to audit any questionable claims and not hide behind the fact that they served as an excuse to look the other way

Buddy I’m talking to you like a man. I can see why you weren’t fit for military service.
I’ll ask again, is the official position of MAGA that VA benefits should be greatly reduced and/or eliminated?

If I recall correctly, there hasn’t been a draft since Vietnam. You chose to serve.
Correct, and signed a contract, that stipulated all these benefits for my service.
A deal is a deal.
I was underpaid for my services.
Have a draft if you don’t want generous benefits packages.

do you have legitimate service-related disabilities that you are receiving compensation for? great! i fully support you.

My wife’s nephew had a pre-existing condition before joining the Navy. He is now getting disability for the rest of his life. The Navy just rolls over for these things.

You support me and other veterans to the extent it’s personally beneficial for you to do so. That much is obvious and precisely why organizations like the DAV exist.

No one is saying that. There’s a huge percentage of fraud happening by people who aren’t disabled getting it. That’s it.
