Pretty clear at this point that we had bad intelligence (again), and a false sense of confidence in the defensive capabilities of the gulf states.
No. There’s a reason we rushed massive amounts of air defenses into the region before we started the war.
The bad intelligence r was the assessment that the people would rise up against the regime.

I remember back in the 1960s during the Vietnam war…, some days over a 100 of US soldiers would be killed…. especially during the Tet offensive. Planes would arrive back here with cargo bays filled with USA draped coffins.
This is war and every service member over there is potentially in harm’s way. They are risking their lives for our country. God bless them …and may the deceased RIP… and God be with their friends and families.

How many children have been killed in Gaza?
You don’t give AF about children in Gaza, so why ask the question?

Jared Kushner foreign policy at work.
I don’t understand why the right loves him so much. He’s probably the most corrupt person in the world and would do anything for Isreal.

I doubt it with this clown administration. It was admitted they were surprised Iran went to controlling the strait.

Iran needs to start looking like Gaza
What we need to do is hold the idiots accountable that thought this war was a good idea
We need to turn Iran into Gaza because they're fighting back in a war that we started?

It was. Because the administration doesn’t plan or conduct the war. The military does that and presents options and risks to the president that he can choose from.

I’d like to see that link. But if so that’s a failure of the intelligence community. They are the ones that assess the likelihood of such actions and, again, presents this to the president.

Iran is teetering as I post.
Great, meanwhile we're 140 days into a war that the Commander in Chief stated in late March would be over "“within maybe two weeks" before giving a primetime national address where he told us all "I’m pleased to say that these core strategic objectives are nearing completion ... we are going to finish the job, and we’re going to finish it very fast. We’re getting very close.”
This is a complete and utter shite show

As little as I know, I will ask a question:
How do you affordably defend against missiles and drones?
I assume you have expensive Patriot Missiles to guard against Iranian Balistice Missiles and have the capability to do it most of the time. If not, then we have a problem.
But also is there a cheaper method to knock out the drones? Is there a method that within seconds identifies the threat, drone vs missile?
Then do we deploy anti drone tech that is suitably cheaper?
I really don't know.

I read a few sources that said Air Force.

Are you suggesting that it was considered and we went ahead with the war despite having no way to disassemble their missile program?\
And you think that is somehow better? I'm being kind to the admin by suggesting that they somehow overlooked it.

CRAM is probably the most common in use right now. It stands for Counter Rocket and Mortar system. It was derived from the air defense system on Navy ships designed to engage close in threats. During the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan it was deployed on US bases to shoot down incoming mortar and rocket fire as the name suggests. It’s basically just a big arse Gatling gun guided by radar. There plenty of videos online of them shooting down drones during the current war.
Aside from that I’ve heard there are some directed energy weapons(lasers) being deployed but I don’t know how many or how well they’re working so far.

I’m saying it was considered and we did and do have a plan to dismantle their missile program. In fact it’s already mostly destroyed. Look at the amount of missiles being fired now compared to the early days of the war. It’s barely a fraction of what it was.
It’s a war, there were always going to be casualties. These won’t be the last. Anyone who thought otherwise is an idiot.

Destroy their powerplants, bridges, and everything in between of value. The people don't have the balls to rise up and take it back so not really interested in them having electricity.

Yet still, you/yall can’t deny the fact that you actually and honestly have no idea or clue what’s going on, nor why this or that decision was made, what contingencies may have fallen into play causing who knows what fresh new set of problems and circumstances……y’all have lots of confidence in your bottom line conclusions, yet no details in the middle of the equation, ie didn’t show your work. Why? Because y’all can’t. Y’all have no idea why a decision was made or what led to it, you just know it’s an epic failure.

The poster I was responding to said that most of the people killed in Gaza were enemies
Children are inherently innocent, so it stands to reason they cannot be an enemy.
So I asked how many children had been killed.
Would you like to answer for him? Or would you like to continue squealing about why the question should or shouldn’t be asked?

Correct, Patriot. We aren’t even at halftime yet. Grab your popcorn and sit down. You’ll like how this ends.
