Great steaks there and not cheap. There's one in Great Neck on Long Island that is less likely to encounter killer clowns.

The wife and I went to Peter Luger a few weeks ago. Could have been us. Nice restaurant, the neighborhood it's in is sketchy at best.

It used to be. They take debit cards now, no credit cards.

...and yeah, when we spent a week in NYC, it was on the list, but the idea that I would have to carry cash for four into that neighborhood, I chickened out.

Sitting in there feels like you could get whacked mafia style at any moment. But it’s worth it .

The environment and history are worth it, but the steak itself I found did not match my expectations.

Pretty sure they have an ATM inside.

Life hack alert: This ensures that if they do try robbing/shooting you and your family outside, they won’t get your cash.

You’re assuming two things:

1) his dad didn’t die years ago
2) his dad knows he exists

Dinner for four is basically three hundred bucks, minimum, plus tip. No reason to carry that kind of money on you, especially if you're taking the train. It was a pretty good meal, but we did it once, we won't go back.

I went a few years ago and spent a ton of money for mediocre at best food. Soon afterwards the NYT gave it a .8/4 review.
