Sure, at .30$ on the dollar. And of course, 150 miles of it will glut the market for a bit. So, there will be lots of orders for new pipe that was going to other projects canceled and so on and so forth. But hey, the Pedophile in Chief ordered it. So let it be written, so let it be done.

again, i was not talking about welspun, or railways, just in general via trucking to help the OP understand.

quote:

you just use stretch/pole trailers.

no shite? exactly what we have used for stringing from lay down to ROW. LOL

quote:

it's offloaded and stacked, then it's moved to the ROW by truck

no shite?? LMAO. see above. we have shipped double joints via truck for ages to yard. actual shipments. not just using a stretch pole trailer for getting to ROW from LDY. actual shipments.not quads on a truck going down the highway. you are getting confused with the points being made now. we have never shipped any quads on a trailer to site. you are talking about getting it from a yard to ROW. not all pipe is shipped via rail. maybe in your example but not mine.

ok look it is obvious we are splitting hairs now. we have obviously both done this on different scales. largest OD we have laid is 36".

And hundreds of welders that were going to 5G all that pipe are sitting at home wondering how they'll feed their families.

frick the Democrats. All they want is to thoroughly and completely punish and destroy all of blue collar America.

This is what happens when you trust Republicans to govern competently. Who could have possibly predicted that a Democratic POTUS would rescind the Keystone permit because it's an environmental disaster waiting to happen?

Environmental disaster? Please tell me you aren't that ignorant.

There are currently thousands of miles of pipeline criss-crossing the country. Major leaks/catastrophes are VERY rare.

It is FAR safer and more efficient to move oil via pipeline than by rail, ship, or truck.

The opposition to this pipeline is not based on science or fact. It is emotionally-driven climate hysteria.

Joe of course has no clue of this circumstance, but if he did would have made absolutely no difference. Left is very consistent with one particular thought pattern, you see it time and again, lack of concern for what their actions cause. Remember Fauci said when asked about all the small bsuinesses closing......"It's inconvienent"

That crude is going to be shipped by rail,Warren Buffett’s railroad who also owns Union Tank Car that manufactures tank cars.WB is a huge donor to Democrat party.
Much less danger moving crude by pipeline.
For example,BNSF (Warren Buffett’s) derailed in North Dakota in 2014 spilling 400,000 gallons of crude and causing massive explosions and fires.
In 2013, a train carrying Bakken crude derailed in Lac-Megantic,Quebec causing massive explosions and fires.47 people were killed,30 buildings were destroyed and 36 remaining buildings had to be demolished due to petroleum contamination.
There are other derailment stories on internet if you take time to google it.
Ignorance is a terrible thing but it seems to be what drives the Democratic Party.

Anyone know how far along the Trans-Mountain Expansion is? It is supposed to be over 700 miles of new pipe. I'm sure they haven't fabricated it all yet.

The in-field welding cost would be astronomical if they were only using 40's, and the project would take twice as long.

This is a huge factor you'd think.

The scaled route/site/plot plans surely dictated the estimates of quantities of 40', 60', and 80' required with the 40' and 60' kept at an absolute minimum in order to save time and keep in-field welding and testing costs as low as possible.
