They did talk about taxing remittances. But 3.5% isn't enough to really dissuade illegal immigration. That's a pretty small fee to send money internationally.

The organizations that are funding this need to be crippled by all means necessary.

Managing and taking care of a population around the size of Philadelphia (and it will grow) over 3 years with a bare minimum of infrastructure in place is a recipe for disaster on top of ridiculously expensive.

Year 2 comes along while twiddling their thumbs and watching everyone around them start to get communicable diseases will make for a rather grumpy populace.

Watching the video it doesn't appear they're all congregated in one place

It's a few hundred here, ten thousand there, etc.

The video title is a bit misleading

That how great it would be if those NGO's actually used all that money to help those migrants in their own country.

We agree on this. I don't think Trump is dumb, blind, or ill informed and he sees the big picture.
I hope he deals with it.
We owe Mexico zero favors or consideration. Trump needs to flex Americans muscles and get real with Mexico.
That cartel owned Mexican bitch has no room to offer advise to other governments, much less America's.

If true, we need to pre-emptively strike and drive them away

Mexicans belong in Mexico. Not America

From the other side of course.

Well in that case it creates other problems. You are going to supply possibly 100s to 1,000s of different camps in rural Mexican areas where it averages in the 100s for the summer? These people try to plan it out so they don't have to spend the middle of summer around the US/Mexican border. The waiting and disease issue is going to be similar. This will turn into a shite show for them if this is real.

This could be the one time Trump could actually use his tariff stances to produce something of value. Offer to have 0% tariffs with Mexico in exchange with their cooperation with the border and immigration issue.

El reconquista.

This is Mexico's problem. ENTIRELY

If they facilitate more illegal immigration into the USA, it becomes time to attack Mexico in a steadily escalating scenario.

They declare putting this war on the USA, they have a price to pay.

and hopefully there becomes plans to make the administration of the stolen election pay their price.

No.. tariff them harder and ruin them or they do what we ask….they have no upper hand in this…

This is why republicans lose because of thoughts like this. So soft

Tax the hell out of the +$65B US dollars in remittances Mexico received in Bank of Mexico in 2024 and their economy will fold. There's no wonder the President of Mexico is pleading for the ICE raids to stop. She knows remittances dropped by over 12% in the month of April and she have that money train derailed.

You could tariff them harder and use it as a negotiating tool to bring it down later when you get cooperation from them

Trump is the one that claims he can get all of these great outcomes from tariffs so let's see him put it into action

What situation would be more appropriate for it than this one currently?
