Went to Lake Charles to do some hunting and visit some friends, one of whom is a head coach for a middle school currently and he shows me a video of his cousin, Desean. This guy caught 12 TDs this year.

Gotta say 225 & 6'5" for a current sophmore, looks like he is gonna be a big one in LA in 2013.

Great looking potential TE. The only problem is he may hit one more growth spurt (usually between your sophomore and junior year), so hopefully for his sake, he doesn't

I think he is ahead of the curve in the growth department.

His routes are simple but crisp. Shows good burst. And the dude never lets the ball come to him.

The thing I love most about Landry, Beckham, and Chris Briggs

The '13 class is supposed to be pretty deep, I think the kid from Monroe is that age as well.

Barbe has a really good Frosh WR as well. The state just keeps producing high quality athletes.

With Foster being graduated Smith and Quinn only need someone to get them the ball and Barbe will go deep in the playoffs. They had a better 9th grade team than when Justin Vincent was a freshman.

D is my first cousin on my Dad's side. He's a character who has character.

He'll be pretty heavily recruited in a couple years.

I don't know why they didn't include the tape against WM. He had a great game and won several jump balls. The other kid looked better, but I think SFP said his future is baseball.

He did break the Barbe career receiving record as a freshman.

barbe throws the ball around a lot more now than they ever have, so that stat doesn't mean a whole lot

How many kids (besides Fournette) can you remember that had an impact as a freshman like Trey Quinn did at the 5A level this year? Lets remember we are talking about a 14 year old kid here. He is only going to get bigger/stronger/faster. Rivals has him listed at 6'1" and 185 lbs, which is pretty good size even for D1. I have seen some film of him running away from D1 prospects. You can see him taking two steps to cover 5 yards, which most college coaches say is legit D1 speed. His speed is very deceptive, he is more of a long strider and runs effortlessly. And yes, he is also a very good baseball player from what I hear, was on that Lake Charles team that almost won the Little League World Series.

Smith will be highly recruited too. Easily passes the "eye test" with his big frame. Him and Quinn have to hope they can find a replacement for Foster, otherwise you may not see them put up the stats they did this past year. Regardless they are both kids we should watch.

We need to see some film of the young Barbe freshman. Rivals doesn't have any posted yet. YouTube only has a video of him dunking a basketball in middle school, and pitching a no-hitter during the little league world series. I have seen him on the news, and they were long TD runs against Evangel and LaGrange, both of whom had very fast DB's that are being recruited. The film will tell the truth. I know that the opposing coaches all thought he was legit from what I read. West Monroe ended up using Turner and Cain as DB's largely because Quinn and Smith were doing well.

Very promising. I like that we are talking about LSU & good TE's again.

BTW, I thought Lil Wayne was an unconditional Packers fan? That "Put Me In Tha Game (On 4th & Inches)" song in the vid was pretty pro-Saints.
