A little backstory. My wife is dammed and determined to buy me a new Minn Kota Ulterra trolling motor because she thinks it will be physically easier for me to use one of the new, GPS-controlled motors that self deploys and stows itself at the push of a button. I may be late to the party but we cannot find the motor available almost everywhere. I went to my local shop (Renovations in Cut Off) and was told that they had a waiting list of 41 people as of yesterday and that the shipment of motors has been very sporadic. She told me that last week they got a pallet of ordered ulterra's in and it only had 4 units despite the very long waiting list.

Is it a chip issue, a demand issue, or is a supply chain problem?

I currently have Minn Kota riptide 80lb thrust, hand-controlled motor that is only about 3 years old so I am still in good shape, but damn I sure didn't realize the shortage. Any explanations, help, locations, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Everything is in short supply except fear, blame, whining, and illegal immigrants.

CHYN-AH

Check Russell marine, I ordered from him and received it next day shipping.

I’d consider the Terrova over Ulterra. Every single person I know with the ulterra ended up swapping to the terrova because it stayed in da shop jammed up.

It’s not just trolling motors. I’ve been waiting on a 250 Yamaha for months.

I have a friend that works for a boat dealer. The boat companies are wanting to send them boats without the motors, saying they can send them later. They will not take any boats because of this reason.

Blame it on the pandemic. No one to manufacture the products, parts not available, ppl making +$300/wk to stay home and drain the economy.

What a crappy time to be trying to buy boats or boat parts whether new or used.

The boat I ordered is complete and sitting in the factory. The problem is getting the Yamaha motor from Japan to the US. Supposedly, there is a shortage of shipping containers and thousands of Yamaha motors waiting to be shipped.

I just bought a tractor this past weekend.

It was the last one of a new shipment of I think he said 30-40 tractors. Not exactly the one I was wanting but it's close enough (it's 73hp and was looking for the 60-65hps).

Can't get all the implements now either. Hope the sprayer will be available this month and not sure about the cultivator.

I checked out Russel marine this morning and couldn't find either the ulterra or terrova in stock. I did find the terrova 80 in stock at trolling motors.net but no ulterras. I really wanted the auto-deploy and Stowe feature but there is a several-month backorder issue. I watched a couple of videos and it looks super easy to manually deploy the terrova so I may end up going that way.

Get the terrova. Auto deploy is not nearly worth having your trip ruined over the damn thing not deploying. You can't manually deploy it, and you can't manually stow it without disabling it permanently. The ulterra is a piece of shite.

I've had a trip go to shite behind one of those piles of shite deciding it didn't feel like working anymore. frick those things.

And for me add the Mega Live Imaging transducer I've had on backorder for six months.
