I had a couple of friends that had some. They were brothers that owned a ranch in southeast New Mexico. One had a female....Damn good dog. The other got a male.....Huge bastard. They had to pen him up. He liked to kill calves.

Lobos? (
)
males gotta hit around 2 miles a day, minimum or they just end up fat bastards...just like us after 40 (hey, voice of experience here). Thats just nature saying "get the frick out and go frick something up" or stay and rot. Penning a wolf is like penning a 10 year old. Never.

I saw something on the AP about a woman who was selling wolf "hybrids", but got them taken away because she didnt have the necessarry permits or some shite to sell them.
Spent a winter as a handler for a sled dog team, and the kennel had hybrids and a couple of wolves.

Oh believe me, I know. I used to work on the ranch. Their dad was the only one that could even feed that dog.

There are some bigass wolves, it could be real.

Roger, you would know better than most of us...but most pictures of wolves I've seen. They don't look nearly that well fed. Perhaps its a lot of winter fur?

Yeah, I doubt that is a wolf found anywhere in the wild. That may be some "rescued" wolf that escaped. Just my guess.

I don't think a wolf could get to 350. Looked it up and average size is 70-120 lbs per wiki so may not be accurate. But there are some pics on google that look about the same.

it's a bigger man, and they just put in this smaller pic of a dude to mess up your perception

Recent report backing up what I said. LINK This is also a main theme in that book I suggested be read.

I do question, what needful, functional role does this particular species fill.
My later reply:

And I really don't think man fills the niche of top predator very well. Man targets trophy animals, while wolves prey on the weak (young, old, injured, etc.). Could lead to an imbalanced population demographic. Also, as someone already mentioned, wolves control the mesocarnivores, which is of ecological importance for other prey species.

Are you suggesting bullets or arrows would not kill elk in Yellowstone?

Are you suggesting that you know more about ecology and wildlife management than I do?
Edit: Let alone people that are currently professionals in the field...?
