They are a finicky little fish and difficult to catch on a consistent basis. Try using only artificial to make it even more difficult. The amount of variables you have to consider on a trout trip are endless.

I’d argue it’s made a significant difference in the fishery. But yeah the charter guys obviously make a bigger impact.

Anyone know if the trout have moved to the beaches yet in Grand Isle or is it too early still? May go to the island this weekend.

Go to a guys weekend/fishing rodeo on Lake Oachita, Arkansas and some of the other guys caught some walleye. Had a big fish fry and the walleye were damn good.

Reds are better to eat and funner to catch no doubt.

Definitely more fun to catch. Agree to disagree on better eating part, though I do love redfish.

If prepared properly and bloodline cut out of fillets, I agree with redfish tasting better. There's nothing like some fresh blackened redfish cooked on a cast iron skillet. F that half shell grilling method!

Subject change. Did i mention that there’s no limit on the far superior tasting fish?

I have started bleeding out reds when I catch them. It makes a world of difference on the taste and removes the bloodline.

Just punch your thumb into the fish right behind the pectoral fin and throw on ice.

I need to start doing this, rather than just cutting it out.

I'll have to try this.
