Willing to be these are Logan Founerats old leases. White Lake has been a white elephant, lawsuit $$ should’ve been taken over preserve that sees little use from the taxpayers.

Be interested to see what the winning bid is.

How many year lease? Do you have to pay your full bid up front? What if you agreed to pay x amount / year for term of lease?

Looks like it’s an annual contract from reading the bid info. Would need a barge camp to make it worth while and plenty $$ for maximum enjoyment. I know Logan had a nice set up down there at one time but also ran cows on one section.

Probably wayyy too expensive to shoot a bunch of dos Gris and teal while dreaming of puddle ducks who’ll never fly that far south ever again.

Couple of highlights that jump out to me:
Minimum acceptable bid is $206,861.53 which is based on the current year (2020) rent.
No for profit hunting allowed.
8ea 4 man blinds allowed to be hunted per day with a max of 16 blind locations. Lessor gets final approval on all blind locations.

Alot of money for someone to tell me how many blinds and ppl allowed.

8 blinds x 4 per blind = 32 people at 6340 per hunter min. bid.

it will be split by 2-3 corporations. Its actually a lot cheaper than plenty of the other big clubs

That's just permanent blinds, there's alot of water out there you can hunt with a boat blind or bucket. The price is actually not bad considering some school board sections are $50-$100 per acre. Getting to it would be a shite show since it is an island at the end of the road.
Foster used the taxpayers money for the swap with AMOCO, only the well heeled will ever see the place.
It was a very poor swap and not one of his better deals.

I thought White Lake was donated to the state?

Pretty sure the lease agreement forbids that.
From the draft lease:
quote:
All waterfowl hunting shall be conducted from established waterfowl blind locations. No hunting from levees or boats will be allowed. LESSOR reserves the right to make the final and future decisions concerning blind location and installation on the leased acreage.
