You will get lots of opinions. GM homers hate Ford and Ford homers hate GM. I don't know too many folks that have had good luck with dodge.

You should drive them all and decide for yourself.

Sure...

Let me know how that 1990's technology performs in today's world. Toyota stopped trying in 1996.

You mean the one that never breaks? Works fine, thanks

Dodge gas motors are terrible

I know this thread has turned into a "I own this brand pissing match" but I'm genuinely interested in this comment.

What motors are you referring to? Bad experience with one?

Did you honestly believe a motor half the size would get as good as gas mileage under heavy load? If you pull all the time I don't think anyone would recommend a 3.5 liter engine turbo or not. Its not made for that. If you pull regularly the bigger motors are pretty much always going to be better.

Take away pulling and I bet that 3.5 averages better mileage over the life of the motor than the 6.2. That has nothing to do with brand names, its just pure motor size. Smaller engines are better for not pulling and larger for pulling, its pretty much that simple.

Same here. People bash Dodge/Ram a lot, but it's rarely the engines. Not sure what he's getting at.

OP, drive them all and decide for yourself. I'm a Ram guy and love my truck, but it's hard to recommend since they need an update pretty bad. They've at least done a decent job staying competitive though.

Went from a Toyota to Ford. No complaints on the Toyota, but I am enjoying this peppy new 2.7L

I'm sure it's the typical, my brother-in-law's cousins uncle owned a 1996 and it was junk. Seems like that's the on par comment for dodge/ram.

I love my 5.0 4x4. Strong and reliable. On a round trip from La to Maryland last summer I averaged 19.1 mpg for the whole trip and basically drove 75 to 80 on the Interstate except for a detour through the NC Smokies for 3 days on the way back including a long stint on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Tundra then F150. Ram at a not so far third. GM and Chevy products are just terrible now a days. I can't count the number of Chevy or gm guys that I know who have gotten away from them.

I've owned all three. I will only buy Ford from now on. It's a superior truck. Ford is a truck company that builds cars. GM is a car company that builds trucks.

I have an '08 Denali that looks like you beat the dash with a bat. Cracks all over it.

I'd go with Ford, I can't buy a GM or Dodge after the screw job they did to us taxpayers.

I always thought people bought Dodge to save money. I went on a salt trip recently with two doctors. Both had Dodge 3/4 ton diesels.

I've never owned one so I guess I can't speak to their longevity our power. However, long before Nissan and Toyota made a V8 motor, Dodge had by far the worst fuel economy of the big 3 in full size trucks. I've just always thought they were cheaper (not talking about price) than Chevy or Ford. However, the Cummins diesel motor is a different story.
