I'm sure most on here use more than 1 depending on species. I'm looking to upgrade mine. I fish mostly Reds, Specks, and flounder.

That American angler is the tits. I got one for Christmas last year.

Yeah they good. I’d been using a rapala for several years and got the American this spring. It’s definitely better

Made in USA and all metal gears is what I was told. Cheaper knifes have plastics.
I use the regular blades for trout and I bought the shark blades for reds.

I have an old knife that started life as a straight edge with a blade 8 inches long and about 1 inch high. It is over 20 years old and has been sharpened down to a slim filet knife now and it works great since the blade is very flexible.
It has become my go-to knife for fish and for deboning beef, pork and fowl.

+3 on the American Angler with the orange handle it's an awesome electric kinfe and I believe has a 25 year warranty on the motor.
Use a serrated Dexter for snapper and big reds and a hand me down from a friend knife for hand filets.

Electric for inshore and small stuff. I also use a Dexter fillet and serrated when needed.

For redfish:
I keep a 6" and 10" fillet knives on hand otherwise. All dexter russell.

Dexter but carbon steal with wood handle. About four licks on a corse stone and you can shave with it.

I hunt National forest land. I clean deer on my tailgate in 15 minutes and remove the tenderloin without gutting a deer. I use the raptor razor. These 2 knives are awesome! It’s totally different knives. They are “T” handled and in my opinion are an awesome ergonomic design. This is not for fishing just wanted to put it out there.

I guess the Bubba's are over hyped? Looks like I may give electric another shot.

They make a 5-1/2" Scalloped that works great for smaller fish.

Dexter fillet knives. Cheap, easy to hone, easy to sharpen, and can be found anywhere.

I have a bubba that I use. I was gifted it but I haven't noticed any difference compared to a Dexter Russel. I guess I need to clean bigger fish with it.??
