What part of Kansas would you pick that is best for duck. Deer and upland matter but they have good deer in most of the state.

Talking about buying land.

Look around Great Bend. I’ve never duck hunted out there, but that seemed to be a duck area when I drove through there.

The bad thing about Kansas is the deer tags are lottery and it's going up to $400.

Dude. You never ever have perspective. You are worried about $400 when you’re looking to buy land in Kansas.

Do realize how insignificant $400 is compared to the price and upkeep of land you propose?

When will they let us cross the border? Had to cancel my fishing trip this past summer. As far as I know hunting trips were the same in 2020.

Well as far as I know Biden is letting more international travel happen now, though the Canucks are pissed at us for shutting down the pipeline, so who knows

I hunted one time in an area in the SE corner of the state. It was an area of agriculture, (obviously) that abutted a river. The guide service leased fields in proximity to the Verdigris River. There were large, say three to four foot levees surrounding these rectangular fields. In the winter they plugged the breaches in the levee and pumped water into the fields. So it ended up a Kansas version of a S La flooded rice field. It was just outside Coffeyville Kansas. There were a ton of mallards as you would expect. I'll bet Kansas ag land is expensive. The guide said this area was visited regularly by folks from way up in Kansas City. But it was beautiful land and a neat setup for an old Louisiana rice field hunter (me). And there are a few pheasant there if you are so inclined. If you have the money, take a look at it.

If you want to draw a deer tag every year, look at the eastern half of Kansas.
If you want deer tags every year without a draw, look at Missouri and Oklahoma.

Somewhere around Cheyenne Bottoms (Great Bend area) or Quivira Wildlife Reserve (Stafford/St John area. We deer hunt around Seward and I see some pretty impressive duck and geese flights. Tried to book a duck hunt around Great Bend in December but the outfitter was booked.

I understand it, it's not so much the price, is the lottery. Same conundrum of the poster awhile back about Kansas, Iowa, or trips every year out west.

Kansas is different from Iowa. Kansas offers landowner tags for NR hunters with 80 or more acres.

Really? I must have missed that when looking at the regs. I need to look into how this work if it is in a LLC. or there is multiple owners.

The name listed on the deed or on the LLC can get land owner tags. Kansas is 80 acres, Illinois is 40 acres and you can get a non resident landowner tag.

Iowa it doesn’t matter, you must live there to get a resident tags.
