Factory Benelli, but I got a Carlson’s extended light modified this dove season and like it. All I could get on short notice was the silver one, so I used grill paint to spray paint the extended end matte black.

it all really depends what type of loads you are going to be shooting. I have shot almost every big brand chokes and results vary. I really like carlsons for ducks because they are the most versatile in constriction and what you can shoot through them. They shoot all types of shot and all types of speeds because they are traditional chokes and not wad stripper type chokes (Patten Master). They also make (to my knowledge) the tightest chokes on the market that can shoot steel.
What I like for sporting clays are Muller chokes. They are super light weight, extended for easy removal between stations, and have a lifetime guarantee. They also have a duck hunting line of chokes that I havent messed with but heard they are very nice.
I used to be a pattern mater guy but after seriously patterning different loads/chokes, I couldnt get the patterns I want so I switched. I am however curious about the anaconda chokes they have and would be willing to give those a shot.

For my Remington 1187 I use a modified Kicks High Flyer
For my Franchi Affinity I use a Patternmaster Anaconda.
Both are modified. For each gun, I also have their brand of IC/M/F and would rarely but occasionally slap one in if needed.

I have one I put in my nova. It kills stuff.

So you're saying the patternmaster code black is the better choke?

No. I'm saying I shoot the code black turkey in my turkey gun and it's the best killing combo I can imagine.

Pattern board and a few rounds at 40 yards if you are not doing this you are a silly hunter

I use the factory chokes in my Benelli SBEII and have never had a reason to "upgrade". I think it might make a small difference but there are probably more efficient ways to spend your money.

quote:It's very hard to argue against this. Briley chokes are consistent, and apparently machined to very tight tolerances.
Briley. Nothing else needs to be said.
I have used them for 15 years - clay targets mostly, but also for ducks and doves. You can break a clay target a long way off with a modified Briley choke and 7.5 shot
My only "mistake" is that I bought a full set of Briley chokes: Spreader, cylinder, skeet, IC, light mod, mod, improved mod, full, and extra full.
Then, I shoot modified for everything - I haven't changed my choke in 7-8 years. I end up giving all those the extra chokes to my sons and grandkids.
