No offense, but you come across as either the proverbial Aggie, or you're simply doing a poor job of trolling.
Either way, it doesn't sound as if you really need a handgun at this stage of your development. As was suggested -- if you're really serious -- go take handgun class (such as the NRA Basic Pistol class).

Without question you need a Glock 18. Absolutely.

Glock 43 for pocket conceal carry - I am liking that pistol more each day.
Glock is running some pretty cool offers right now:
Glock Summer Specials
I love forward serrations on the Glock 19.

This would be my first gun. Looking for something I don't have to reload very often

So can you even get anything that holds over 10 rounds? I know some judge did something but can't honestly say I'm versed in cali gun law
No. The judge blocked a law that made it illegal to posess a 11+ round mag under any circumstances.
The laws on the books make it illegal to acquire, import, transfer etc. and only legal to posess a 11+ round mag if you have been in possession of said magazine since 2000. I believe with the current laws, possession of a high cap magazine only results in confiscation. Whereas it would have been a crime (not sure felony or misdemeanor) had the judge not blocked the law.

Pretty sure the Judge only threw out the ban on previously owned magazines. I don't think you can get any magazines over 10 rd mags shipped to Cali anymore.
I would advise you to go with Sig or HK over flock

A Glock 19 should be everyone's first pistol.

Glock 19 gen 4. Got mine for about $725 at a gun show last year. You will not be disappointed.

No offense, but you grossly overpaid.

That's just the price you pay when you can't pass a background check
