I bought one that wasn’t even running. I knew the motor had issues, so I offered the guy what I thought the boat was worth without a motor and he went for it. Didn’t realize how much electrical issues it had so now I’m rewiring it.

Yeah I saw that the other day. Wish I would have seen it a couple years ago. I already have a head unit installed in the boat. If it ever goes out, I might switch to this. I only ever play music from my phone.

Yamaha? If so, there is a tiny hole on the bottom front side of the lower unit. Take a 1/8" drill bit (no bigger) very lightly and clean it out. Disconnect the other end from the speedometer and blow compressed air through it. Very easy to fix.

It does. A previous owner had the amp and power pole wired through a perko. I didn't check it and plugged in the charger with perko on. I blame that error.

Just bought a new trailer for my boat bc the old one was rapidly deteriorating.

My running lights aren’t working. Going to have to spend some time tracking down the problem.

One speaker isn’t working.

Sending unit isn’t working.

None are no go issues...just the never ending day in the life of a boat owner it seems.

Secondly my Lowrance HDS gen 3 has been acting like a fool. The tech support guys solution for everything is a hard reset and if that does not work they are pretty clueless. After several unsuccessful frustrating hours on the phone I said I should have bought a Humminbird....”crickets”. I need this fixed before Saturday so calling again when I get off from work today.

What kind of issues are you having? I just went through several calls to their customer service for issues with my Gen 2's after an update of the software. If you recently updated them I might have some insight into your isuue.

Will be done soon. My brake guy and boat guy are on the same lot. When the parts come in to repair my surge brakes, I'll get the new charger done.

Came to the conclusion that the soft spot in the floor needed to be dealt with.

Dealt with it. Rebuilt all wood decks. Recarpeted. Sold it.
PITA.

I unfortunately haven’t used my boat enough for something to break.

I've enjoyed a fairly trouble free 15 years of dual boat ownership. Last year the shite hit the fan.

subaru mudboat
complete motor rebuild (#3 piston )
then switched to hurtz clutch from velvet drive
currently replacing the shaft, yokes, u-joint, and prop

bass boat yamaha hpdi
had it in shop for 8 months for a random miss. Only reason i left it there that long cause I was rebuilding the mud boat. 1k dollars later and now sun faded it wasn't even fixed. So I put myself on a 4 week waiting list at outcast and finally got it fixed. Bad coil and injectors out of sync. Had this problem for well over a year.

side note. DO NOT BRING YOUR BOAT TO RYAN NEIL AT OUTBOARD PERFORMANCE IN HOUMA.

This has been almost every year for me. Going to try to find a cable solution next time.

I went this same route several years ago. I just went to Lowes or HD and got the smallest rubber coated cable I could find and a couple cable clamps. It will never break again.
