I joined Salty Cajun back in 2007 or so and felt like it took a lot of effort to make it worthwhile from a users point of view. I think I stayed active for 2 or 3 years but lost interest. If you weren’t W’s friend or his enemy you weren’t relevant and ignored. I’m sure there are some good guys there but it wasn’t worth my effort.

Rodnreel was fun until someone got too uptight and started deleting posts and banning member. Then they started charging for classifieds and changed the format. Good bye LASM isn't bad for classifieds but the reports are suspect

I, as well as a few other OBers, had tried to sign up to Salty Cajun a few years ago. All of which created accounts and never got activated, even sent the little reminder to admin thinking maybe it was missed, but was still never activated. I still check about once every 6 months and my activation is still pending some 3 years later. Kind of hard to grow your website if you don't approve new members to be active.

I guess same fate for Bayou Bucks. That was once a good website and I use to love their magazines. I honestly hate the hunting FB groups, I prefer it much more on a forum.

I have a Salty Cajun account and I will occasionally post reports when I go. I just like it because a lot of the guys on there post about Big Lake trips. The most valuable thing about that site is the archives, though. Back when the site was first started, people gave a lot of good information in their reports. If I have a trip coming up, I will go back and look at old reports from the month I am going and can usually find some good info.

Yes, mostly a westside site..... not many reports from the East/Central part of the state.

True. Used to be awesome. Still pretty good.

Another site that went by the wayside in Tx which was very good was "wadefishing.com". That one kinda went down when 2cool added a wadefishing board.

LAFB is for lazy asses who can't fish

Last year someone posted some shite about LA1 being on fire and they next day they had people down there with bass baits, topwater lures, just about everything the fish weren't biting, and poles big enough to catch a whale. was hilarious.

did we just become best friends?

paying to learn how to read google earth and a tide chart... then getting bombarded with ads for sea tow, standard mapping and one or two launches all while getting told your post doesn't have enough information.
