A lot of people only look at initial purchase prices of cheap vs quality dog food. In reality, I feed my dog half of what I would if he got the cheap shite, so the cost is basically even

where are yall buying victor from, seems very expensive.
Victor is a very good food for a fairly inexpensive price compared to others in the same realm of comparability.

I've fed Pro Plan and Diamond, and neither were any better than Sportmix. Feed High energy during the hunting season and Maintenance the rest of the year. Solid stool and good coat, and you can get it for around $26/40#.

I also feed my dog this and actually feed this more than diamond now and see no difference, he may drop a few more moon pies but thats because he gets left overs too

Dr. Tim's Momentum during hunting season. Dr. Tim's Kinesis during the offseason.
I feed mine between 1/3 and 1/2 of what I fed her when I was still feeding her Pro Plan. That, coupled with the fact that some filler in Pro Plan kept giving her allergies, made it an easy choice.

The ultimate dog food. It's cheap as hell and great for them.
Diamond Lamb and rice is definitely the best value out there. $30ish for a 40 pound bag and it does a great job of maintaing hard working dogs. They don't eat much of it at all

Fed my dogs Canidae for at least last 8 to 9 months.
Just made the change over to AvoDerm (for same issue that you are now having; see other thread on OT for details).

Victor can usually be found for roughly $1.00 per pound.
I buy 90 % of my dog products from Chewy.

yep. All the muts get the cheap stuff and they are fine. the only purebred I have is on Iams. She has skin allergies tho. Probably because she is purebred and expensive.

My 12 yo gets some kind of joint tablet. she has stopped growling at the pet door and taking a bunch of practice moved to go through. I guess her hips were bothering her.
