What do you do when you spook deer on the way to your stand?

Had two deer on the trail, very close to the stand this morning. It was in the dark so I couldn’t really tell what they were. Looked like two adult deer. I hunted the stand anyway and saw a doe and a little one. I know it wasn’t the same deer.
Last year I jumped a very nice buck headed to my stand on an evening hunt. He was also pretty close to my stand. He was bedded down and didn’t jump until I got pretty close to him. I knew I wasn’t seeing shite after that.
Do you change plans if you spook deer near your stand on the way in?

depends. If I am spotted and bump a deer, I tend to stay in the stand I planned to hunt. If I get winded because the wind isn't doing what the forecast predicted, I will certainly change.

Usually if they blow and /or stomp their feet you can leave that area.
They do make a call for when a deer blows at you. It's a blow call so they think it's another deer. Not sure how it works though.

Maybe that depends on hunting pressure. I walked into my lease this morning to retrieve a camera and solar panel for repair and walked up on a group of does in a woods road. They never saw me and were moving/feeding away from me. While I stood still and watched them, I was winded by a deer that started blowing (out of sight, 100 yards away or more)
The deer that was blowing was moving away. The does in the road became alert at the sound, but did not spook and when it stopped went back to their feeding.

If I think they winded me I'll change my plans if I can. If they just heard/saw me I do a bigfoot's feeding call so they don't think I'm human.
I've killed plenty of deer after spooking some on the way in to my stand, though. Sunday morning I had one blowing right when I got up to the tree. Saw 5 or 6.

Ive watched them blow at each other for 10 minutes before.
Its always does being bitches. I like to think the other deer largely ignore them. Like "oh there's ol bitchin Betty blowing at the boogie man again"
Ive seen them do that before. One sees me and is going apeshit and the other two totally ignoring her. That one that sees you will always see you, because she's going to look. I've seen them blow at a stand that had nobody in it before. They do all kinds of stupid shite. Best thing to do when they blow at you is shoot them in the face.

I dunno but I used a good tip I learnt on a podcast last week.
Had does in the field at dark and instead of spooking them by climbing out of my stand, I had my buddy drive up to my field in his truck after his hunt so the deer would be spooked by the truck instead of the hunter.
The next day we killed a deer in that stand.

Nothing can change a buck only hunt to a doe hunt faster than some old bitch blowing at you

I hunt the same spot because normally I am hunting there because it gives me the best chance to see something. About two weeks ago I had 6-7 deer come down a ridge right in at 4pm. One big ole long head doe circled downwind and stomped. I had the gun halfway up and she snorted. Everything scattered except on doe. I shot her and the snorting witch staid about 80-100 yards away and snorted up a storm for 20-30 minutes off and on. She finally stopped and a spike came in and as I videoed was nudging the dead doe. At 5:25 a nice 8 pt walked right in behind me and I shot him at 20 yards. If I left I would not seen anything

I start blowing back at almost every deer that blows at me. Most of the time they stop blowing and many times they come back out of curiosity.

Nothing pisses me off like a damn doe blowing for no reason.
That one that was blowing at the stand with nobody in it was the record. One of my most fun hunts. She was fricking up a really good spot and you couldn't kill her from the stand because she would stay in the woods and blow her arse off at you. I went layed on the ground about 50 yards in the woods, she started blowing at the stand, I crawled about 10 feet to where I could see her and gave her a .270 bullet.

I just keep hunting as planned. I've got a blind that as far as I can tell doesn't have a way in that doesn't go past a bedding area. Of course, they don't always use the same one and overall I'm about 50/50 on having something blow at me or jump up and run off in the dark on the way in. I still see plenty of deer, even good deer not long after getting busted.

Have experienced this in Texas many times. I know Texas is not like LA or MS, but my experience was if the deer did not wind you or see you, they go right back to feeding.

Just stay the course brother. I have almost turned around and called it a day and gone on to have a good hunt in that exact situation or the dreaded turn the corner on the field at 2:30 etc and it’s full of deer.
Now if you bump a turkey u are fricked . Lol

I’ve bumped them on my walk in. I threw up the blind and a few decoys right there, called them back within a couple hours, and sent an arrow through a nice tom.
This was public land in Nebraska, and we have mostly Rio hybrids—they can be dumb at times.

I'll try to get a video next time I'm hunting. It really takes a lot out of me.
