Shot 4 times at an 8 point one time. He was crippled but still very capable of getting away. Mag was empty so climbed down and rand 200 yards to my truck and was able to find # more rounds. Came back and missed 2 more times before I hit him with my last one.

I always make sure i have plenty now

I carry extra rounds because my dad always did and I learned from him. I never thought about not bringing them.

I guess I have the "rather have them and not need them, than need them and not have them" mentality.

So far I've shot 3 deer where I've pulled the trigger more than once. And one of those deer was dead and didn't know it. The second took 3 shots, and the third took 2. All the rest have died from one bullet/load of buckshot. But I've seen others empty their guns on a deer, and know that sometimes shite can and does happen. That and plus coyotes/dogs/piggies/illegal imigrants/? you never know.

I have ran into a pack of hogs, luckily i had about 10 bullets with me. Killed 6 in about 3 minutes, they were not happy with me.

shite happens. I don't get what the issue is here either. Nobody is toting 30 round clipazines loaded down with spares on their hips or anything.

Only time I carry a bunch is for running dogs. Those slick heads are hard to hit running wide open!

There's something wrong with that?

On serious note, I have taken an ar-15 to track with my buddy just in case of the what if packs of animals. would rather bump it in brush, etc than good scope.

I usually carry at least 7 or 8 with me. I've emptied my gun shooting at a buck and had to reload. I was shooting over him thinking he was further than he was. Rangefinders are your friend

My brother brings 3 or 4 bullets in the woods with him because he says bringing more is stupid. He ain't real bright though.

I always carry a couple extra just in case. You never know what could happen. The only time I've used more then two shots is a couple times on hogs and one time on a deer with buckshot. Shot that bastard 5 times.

i was always taught to have 8-12 extra in your pack and never take them out just in case you forget to load your gun before and dont have any bullets
