What do you carry spinoff, Why do some of you take "extra" ammo?

I always carry a few extra rounds with me just in case. Two years ago, I forgot during an evening hunt. I shot a buck with what I thought was a pretty good hit. He got up and kept running. Emptied my clip at him and hit him twice more when he was running. He kept going. Had to walk back to my truck to get more ammunition and then tracked him in the dark before I shot him in the neck. Turns out my first shot was just a little far back and he was angling more towards me than I thought.

Also, you never know when you will see a herd of hogs.

Edit to add: You never know when there will be zombies.

I've got one of those elastic things on my stock that holds 6 rounds. I load my rifle after pulling rifle up into stand with me, or before walking to the blind.

I'll take what the gun can hold plus a few. Deer hunting has tought me , mostly indirectly, you just never know what will happen. I ain't takin the whole box though, if its that bad you just as soon quit.

The Zombieclipse might happen while you're in the stand!

Porkapocalypse could happen at any time.

I usually take 6 rounds, but feel like I should take more. I want to feel like I definitely won't run out, no matter what the crazy situation may be.

I always consider other outcomes. Like a pack of: Feral Dogs, Coyotes, Pigs, Illegals.

Sometimes three bullets just aren't enough.
