Good ideas guys. Yeah, I want the outdoor covered area for an outdoor kitchen, TV,fire pit and seating area, Need good fans and some mosquito control for outside. I like the ideas of covered areas near the house for SXS and drive up for trucks to unload.

Need a cool bbq out and station for deep frying.

Icemaker for outside or just an icemaker for the lodge/camp? I have heard having one outside is not a good idea. Also, definitely want a mud room with a rack for waders and some lockers for guns, ammo and jackets, etc.

14-20 is a lot of people. When you consider all the bulky items you bring hunting, that’s a lot of space. Best thing we did at our camp is have 30 and 50 amp plugs and multiple faucets for RV’s. Sleeping in a camp with snoring people gets old. People are all different, some want to play cards and drink while some want to go to bed early.
It’s nice to be able to go back to your own spot to sleep. Camp is best for eating, watching the game, and socializing

A pressure washer nozzle over a raised grate right where everybody has to step on the porch. Mud rooms are good ideas but people get lazy, put the wash down rack where it literally slaps them in the face to wash their boots as soon as they get back.

Good point on the raised grate and pressure wash nozzle. The mud out there can be overwhelming.

Thought about just doing a row of rooms like an old motor hotel where they can pull up to a private room with shower and just use the main house for kitchen, great room, and maybe 2 BR suites. A big bunk room is fine for one night but would get old quick.

Bourbon and a cigar, sitting by the fire pit. Now that’s living.

Covered deck and skinning shed, stripper pole on the deck, cordless saws-all in the skinning shed with concrete floor, water hose. Covered area for UTVs and 4 wheelers. Did I mention the stripper pole? Heaters for shooting houses and duck blinds.

I am closing on my property next month and coming up with ideas myself.
looking at building a 1500sq 4Bed/2Bath open floor plan.
would need extra covered porch
Just the idea right now

Tractor and all the attachments to go with it

Big porch is at top of the list. You’ll spend 90% of the time on your porch when you’re not hunting or sleeping

Especially with a tin roof. They are the best when a thunderstorm comes through

Ice maker outside Is probably going to turn into more of a headache than a convenience

cemented, covered, screen in cleaning area with sink and hose
metal shed to store ATVs, tractors, tools etc.
Screened in outdoor area with cooking area to help keep smell off clothes indoors when cooking
go to have TVs for games
firepit
definitely mud room for shoes coming in and out.
if more that 6 people need 2 shitters.

A separate room for the heavy snoring.
Honestly one of the best suggestions.

Doors... it has to have doors.
And don't forget about a screened in outdoor area if building in an area where the mosquitoes and flies are an issue.
Not many things more annoying than being eaten alive in the late evening when trying to relax with a few drinks and having flies vying for you plate of food. You just know those nasty little bastards just flew off a pile of shite somewhere and are now walking in your potato salad.
