I planted on Oct 4, and the plots are coming up great
I was able to get my plots on the property that I own done last Saturday.

My lease is on hold, found out last week that 150 acres of the 300 which is a clear cut will be getting sprayed by chopper, then they are planning on burning the entire 150.

Waiting to see how that plays out.

Hope they gets completed in next few weeks

Its darker on the inside then you might think. I had same thought process,

Once it starts getting dark you need to crack a window to actually see out.

if you catch them on sale I feel like they are a good deal

I have 4-5 work great, the price is right and easy to pop up.
All fields have been Bush hogged, sprayed and disked.
At this time my plan is to plant Oct 11th weekend.

Subject to change if needed

Food Plots South Mississippi

What's everyone thinking on timing on Food Plots this year?

Last 2 years with the end of the summer being in a drought I planted the 2nd week of Oct.

We have been getting more rain this year and thinking of moving that up to 2nd week of Sept.
Anyone doing anything different this year?
Bought my son a Ruger American Compact, small frame gun but he is still using it now about to be 15.

He is 6' now, so I guess he should be getting a full size gun this year.

Love the gun
got my sons 8lber from King Sail fish mount

$511.00

can you really good
I have found easiest way to buy a boat, is to go to some place like ABC title.

Both buyer and seller show up at same time, ABC title will handle all of the paper work with Dept of wildlife and fisher

I have done this a few times and its worth the cost in my opinion
Made it out Sunday for youth at my place in Mississippi.
Heard 4 called 1 in to about 80-90 yds, had 2 hens fly in on us and start fighting. They ended up going away from us and we could not get back on him.

Was able to watch a great show for 5 or so mins, of Strutting and Gobbling.

Lots of fun even though he did not get to pull the trigger. He has been able to kill one opening weekend of youth the last 3 years, almost made it 4.
I have both
Son shoots 7mm-08 i have found way better blood trails

Daughter shoots 6.5C - Blood trails less than desirable, But I am lucky that we have a guy with a great dog. The dog has no problems finding the deer.
When I clean them there are tore up, for the blood trails i can find.

Both gun I have move to a heavier bullet and both perform well.

Well tell you this either round with well placed shot deer will drop.

But if i had to do over, i woould buy both of them Matching .308's so that i could keep ammo the same

Worth it to me with owning property and not planning on selling
They used to years ago and it was $6000

I would pay that, Bought my lic today online, and it was $569.29

With owning property with no plans on selling it would be worth it to me.

Or my next move once my kids are out of school, i may change my resident

Can you elaborate on your screen name?

The reason I ask is that I will be hunting with a T/C Contender for the first time this year... and looking forward to it!

Use to own a 28' Contender - Back when when I had time to fish
