It will kill deer. If you don’t have a deer rifle, it could be a good choice. If you have a deer rifle, you might not want to replace it, thinking the Needmore is a super duper rifle.

What? It will do the same to most any other save for a .45-70.

Doesn’t matter what caliber, but if a bullet is 140gr or less it will not be moved off target any less than the 6.5.

My buddy has one. Everytime that gun goes off I cringe. I know I will have a long night and it will involve the dog tracker up the road.

Every deer he has shot so far we have had to call the tracker. He broke down and bought himself a .308 for Christmas bc he was tired of getting made fun of.

Claims like that from all over the internet and even from people I know personally is what made me buy one. I really wanted to see what the hoopla was about because I had been killing deer my whole life with 270 130gr and 243 100gr bullets all going about the same speed and weight as the 6.5cr.
I bought one for me and my daughter to use and have killed 5 with it from 50-250yd and it wrecks them like all the other guns pushing 120-150gr bullets between 2500-3000fps

Weird, my son and I are 2 for 2 with zero tracking needed with our Bergara 6.5cm. Neither made it 30 yards. Maybe he should try to hit some vitals? Or use a different ammo?

There was a bullet deflection study years ago. I don’t recall the exact caliber, but a small caliber bullet did the best. Seems that it was less likely to actually hit brush.

My wife shoots a hell of a lot better than your buddy. She kills the shite out of deer with her Creedmoor.

I don’t disagree! I know several ppl that drop deer with them. I was just saying why I hate to hear my buddies rifle go off. I am looking at buying one for my kids.

It’s all about shot placement.

I shoot a .308 bc I got mine before the 6.5 came out and my dad and I had custom rifles built and he foot the bill for both. All I had to buy was my optic.

Just don't shoot past 800 with that 308. It doesn't work.

I bought my son a 6.5 Creedmore in the Ruger American Predator. It is a tack driver. He’s hit 2 deer rt behind the shoulder with it and it performs great. We shoot the 140 gr Core Lokt

I don’t plan on it. I have other rifles for that. The .308 I had built was for hunting only. Has a 20in barrel on it like the Remington LTR tactical have.

I won one in a raffle a couple years back and my 11 year old is shooting it. He’s killed 3 on 3 shots, all vitals and longest one has run is about 50 yards on double lung, no dogs needed. Soft tips seem to be key.

It is a target cartridge. The 260 Rem and 7mm08 already existed before it and are better for hunting. 6.5CM is still better than a 243 though. Just stay away from ELDX and you will be fine. Barnes and Terminal Ascent are the best hunting bullets for it.

While I’m not advocating for it and I know you posted a joke.
I shot a deer last week at 35-40yd with a 357mag and lookin at the performance of the bullet Barnes 140 i don’t think anyone would say it was unethical or didn’t have enough “energy” bullet was complete pass through and broke two ribs.
140gr box velocity 1265fps.
That’s about what my app shows for my 150 hornday whitetails 308 is doing at 750yd

That’s the only 6.5cm bullets you should be using for hunting.
