I haven't heard if anyone has any birds flying. What's the word, bird?

A month ago we had about 250. I was hoping that would grow to about 500. Seems like as of this afternoon it's closer to 100 or 150.

We'll hunt 15 people and kill 70-85 birds. If we go over 100 I'll be surprised. If we go 150 I'll be shocked.

One question I've always had about doves: you go into the field at 3 and you jump up 100 birds. Come back at 5 and jump up 100 birds.

How many birds are feeding in that field each afternoon? 100? 200? 500?

why would you go into a field and bump birds out twice in a span of two hours?

That was more of a hypothetical situation. But, I can think of several reasons. Such as: driving through the field to cut hay in another field. Or, going in to burn a strip of browntop. Lots of reasons.

How’s the season work in Mississippi? If I’m not mistaken it starts this weekend, and I’ll be in Fayette. Does it start at noon?

I think it starts at sunrise on Saturday? I'm not really sure to be honest because we always hunt that afternoon.

Our season opened on Tuesday. Went out to public conservation area today, and only saw one and it was on the roadside. Have at least 6 in my yard, but my neighbors may say something if I dispatched them.

Heading to NW LA tomorrow. As usual fields were stacked right before season and now both hunts I am going on saying they are slim pickings and no where near what they had.

Hardly anything along I20 from Rayville to the MS state line.

Our field in Rayville is down on numbers.

There’s birds around. Kinda scattered with the corn harvest but they’re here. I think we’ll
do pretty well

I have talked to people all over (Eudora, Ark/Natchitoches, Jonesville, CENLA, and Bunkie/Whiteville) and it seems like no one is seeing anything.

I hope you’re right.

We’ve got sunflowers and millet everywhere.

Very few birds though.
