Nothing to crazy for me. I caught a fire extinguisher on the red river bass fishing and a few years later hooked a zoom brush hog under the bridge on black lake that had apparently been submerged for awhile it was swollen up and probably 14 inches long.
it would have taken a hell of bass to hit that big bastard.

I have caught several fishing rods (not more than I have lost though) random clothes and several anchors.

Blow/puffer fish while throwing a castnet under the lights in Lake Ponchatrain close to the Rigolets Pass. I believe they are normally caught in tropical waters to the Southern part of Gulf.

Bone fishing in Keys. I had a spinning rod laying down in the boat with a shrimp on the hook. Hook was over 12 inches out of the water. A shark somehow smelled the shrimp, came up out of the water and grabbed the shrimp. The rod flew out of the boat and we cranked up and chased the shark. Rod finally hung up on a piece of coral and broke the line. Guide was kinda pissed off as he wanted to blame somebody.

Caught a 16" barracuda with a cast net.
Weirdest thing I ever hooked was a solid yellow tripletail around leeville bridge.

Bout ten years ago fishin out of Cocodrie pulled in my anchor and it was snagged on something.
Lost an anchor at Last Island and two months later pulled it up with my new anchor.
Friend of mine caught a body at the public boat launch in New Roads on a rattle trap about 20 years ago. They think it was a suicide.
Fishing with a guide someone in the boat caught a nice rod and reel in Catfish Lake. Got back to the dock and my wife told me someone in her boat lost a rod and reel. It was theirs we caught an hour or so later.

A Coleman propane lantern. Pulled it up and rubbed a finger across the muck and saw good solid green paint and knew it wasn't that bad off despite first look. Still use it today 7 years later.

-3' section of metal decking from a rig when offshore fishing
-cow nosed ray at The Trestles
-two pompano at the MRGO rocks two weeks ago
-freshwater blue catfish in the Leeville marsh on a bowfish trip
-a vermillion snapper in the Hopedale marsh
-my buddy caught a shoe once
-a firewood rack on my trotline
Two weird stories in one day in one spot at Breton Island:
1-my buddy's rod/reel was pulled overboard. we saw the cork pop up about 30 minutes later - casted on top of it, snagged it and reeled it in - 12" white trout still on the hook
2-pelican dive-bombed on the live croakers we were using, and hooked him in the webbed foot. Reeled him in with no effort, he was totally calm, grabbed his beak to control him and unhooked him, he hung out at the side of the boat for another minute, then swam off and then flew off. very docile.

we were fishing one morning and we were hammering the trout. A buddy of mine had a bad backlash and ended up cutting his line because we were about limited out. I make a last cast with a tandem rig and caught something. I reel it in and it was a spec on my tandem rig plus I snagged his line he just cut off with a trout on both jig heads.
another time we came across a pelican that had a line wrapped around one of his wings. we tried about 30 minutes to help it out but could never get near it. feel bad but it probably died shortly after.

Snorkeling in Crab island (Destin) I have found several wallets, IDs, cash, 3 watches, a couple of rings. When the wallet has an ID, I always mail it to the address. I got a nice thank you letter back once.

Fishing with Sweetwater out of Delacroix last June and the guide's anchor snagged on a pipe or something. He tried everything to get loose but ended up having to cut the rope.
We moved away from that spot and someone snagged something on the bottom and reeled up a rope that was attahed to a chain that was attached to another anchor!!

I don't have a picture unfortunately but fishing in the marsh around Alligator Point, I reeled in the eye of a fish, just the eye. We were using live shrimp, no earthly idea how the hell that happened. We couldn't figure out what species. Wasn't a trout, which is what we were catching at the time.
