1/2 day Thursday and had to be in for 11:00. Found a good bite around 10:15 and added 8 trout to the 8 we had. Friday my guys didn’t get on boat until 6:30, finished with 28 decent trout. 1/2 trip Saturday morning in the wind, finished with 5 reds and a handle full of sheep’s. Second half of Saturday finished with 5 red 7 sheep and got beat up on ship Chanel going and coming.
Thur-Fri west cove on crickets under yellow mouth corks, Saturday was north with same setup. South wind is doing work for us with salty green water. Predict the coming weekend is going to kick off the trout bite.

Glad to hear There is some green water starting to roll in. I am trying to decide if I want to go to Big Lake or Grand Isle this weekend.

We’re in Destin through Wednesday with the fam so I took pops out for a Father’s Day yak trip. The wind kicked our arse with little show other than this big nasty he caught on the way in.

Hit PAC Sat morning and found some couple reds around the lil islands behind the shrimp nets
Bite slowed down so figured I’d go site casting in the marsh but couldn’t find em unfortunately, grass is tick tick but once the wind picked up I rolled out
Did score a bonus flounder on the way to the launch

We fought the wind on the island. Northeast/East wind had bay messed and dirty on Friday. Was able to find few pockets of clean water north and some fish. Wind was southeast on Saturday and strong tide brought in some good water. Got on them decent in bay. Lots and lots of boats moving around. Bunch of people nowadays see you catch a fish, they gonna come anchor near you. Kind of funny to still catch and they don’t. Some guy asked me what I was doing special. Told him I’m not anchored in some random spot. Got to find shells or other types for the fish to be there. Overall great weekend at the camp. Boiled shrimp and crabs and happy family

That hurts just reading it. You Texans and your tunnel hull/jack plate setups are wild!

Didn't hit anything, taking it to the shop this afternoon but if I had to guess it's probably full of water or a gear came apart. Hot summertime temperatures (last weekend air temps were over 100 and water temps were 91 here) cause the fluid to expand to the point it pushes the seal out on the prop shaft, when it cools water comes in the lower around the bad seal. Had it happen 3 times on my previous engines, found a aftermarket vent kit they install on outboards in Arizona which is nothing more than a small capped pvc section of pipe with a steel line running to it which allows someplace for the heated fluid to expand into without pushing out the seals. Haven't burnt one up since going with that setup, we'll see what they say when they open it up, Mercury has stepped up and replaced all of them under warranty and this one is still under warranty so I'm not too worried about it, hopefully they aren't back-ordered to long. Engine is a Mercury 300xs built by Mercury Racing, lower unit has 57 hours on it.

Spun the prop on powpow’s boat Friday evening, but caught a mess of sacalait and chinquapin in bayou black.

Goose egged out of dularge Saturday. Hit the pickets and only caught catfish and a 10 inch spec. Couldn’t buy a bite other than catfish and a sunken crab trap. Even the guides resorted to catching shrimp and boiling for their clients. Other than a rain cloud that soaked is early on, it was a beautiful day on the water.

Kemo,
Taking the wife to concert and staying the weekend in LC the last weekend of month. Don’t feel like dragging the boat with me so gonna be bouncing around the Weir and beach. Hope it starts to turn over there so can make a midweek trip to big lake.

I’m actually fishing with Billy Friday.

You think it’ll be good as long as the south wind isn’t blowing too hard?

Took my dad and 7 year old to Lake Verret for a Father’s Day trip. Ended up with 34 catfish and 3 bream. All on night crawlers 2 ft under a cork.

Prediction today for Friday at Cameron is ssw- s 15-17.
Saturday afternoon I had to abandon my first spot because the ten foot blade wouldn’t hold in 3’ of water. If you don’t mind getting beat up there’s fish in the cove.
Head west, I’m fishing sat but will offer a bum around trip close to the casino Sunday morning just to meet ya.

Kemo, just seeing your reply. Let me know if you want to go in the morning I’ll cover gas, bait, drinks, whatever else we need. I’ll check the OB for a reply today. I know you’re probably on the water so it may be late until you reply.

Let me create an email without my actual name in it and I’ll post it for you to reach me

Not fishing this weekend but I dropped off the boat today for a repower. Hope to be out there soon.

I did catch 3 bass in 5 minutes last night at a local pond as the sun was going down. The top water bite was fun while it lasted. I quit getting bites once it was completely dark.

ETA... This is the wrong weekend thread.
