My old man was going through his freezer and at the bottom under some old vegetables he found this. It's all wrapped up in that white freezer paper but it's completely frozen. Is it still good? Would you eat it? Is there a way to tell besides it being freezer burnt?

I think Rinella or Janis talked about finding some 10 year old meat in their freezer, or some crazy shite like that. They ate that meat and had no problems with it.

Not sure if I could eat something that old, but 2 years old, if wrapped good and no freezer burn, would probably be just fine.

As long as it doesn’t have more freezer burn than you can cut off, it will be fine.

Extended time, as long as never thawed inadvertently (think long power failure) never makes meat "unsafe". At worst, the meat will not be as good quality. People ate 10,000 year old mammoth meat that was found is a glacier several years ago and none of them died.

My grandparents found some shrimp from the 70s in their freezer a couple years ago. They made BBQ shrimp with them and said they were fine. They were both in their 80s at the time.
