I used to fish the pond behind our crib in Nicholson Lakes when I was drunk. Never caught anything

I tried the LSU lakes right in front of sorority row a few times, never got a bite.

At that point it was more important to me to get out and have that relaxing continuous motion of castin' and twitchin' than actually catching fish.

I've always heard there are some pretty nice fish behind the Pennington building on Perkins. Friends of mine used to jump the gate. Not sure what the security is like now.

not sure how "urban" you consider them, but the borrow pits on the other side of the levee usually hold some good fish. There is a very large drainage canal that runs through some of the Broadmoor and Sherwood Forest Subdivisions - used to fish that quite a bit back in the day. Thing was loaded with fish, caught some decent bass and tons of goggle-eye. Also there is a large canal that runs through Afton Oaks subdivision. It is fed by overflow from Lake Sherwood. I used to go to my cousins house and we would spend the whole weekend fishing back there. There were some big bass in that canal and tons of bream. Also used to live in Azalea Lakes off Old Jefferson - never caught a fish in that fricking lake.

I caught a 7 lb bass and a few 3-4 lb ones at the YMCA off of Perkins near Siegen. You're supposed to be a member to fish there. It's catch and release only.

Where is the pond by Oak Villa. I've played softball out there a couple of times and never noticed a pond.

Always wondered if they'd let you fish that BCBS pond. Figured they'd run you off, I may have to give that a try. Thanks Purple!

I've caught fish in the Oak Villa pond between games. Small bass.

I've heard the Pennington ponds are stocked like crazy. Billions of bream. If you fish with nightcrawlers you can't put your line in the water for more than a minute wtihout catching a bream. Or so I've heard.

Soul poles. figured I'd throw that one out there.

I always fished that pond after work hours and on weekends for what its worth.

another good tip is to look for an opening in the trees in one of the 4 corners of land bordering any overpass. There is usuall a fairly deep pond there that may or may not hold fish. Many times these ponds actuall have a ledge 6 ft down where they dug down one level then set the excavator and dug another level deeper.

Went last Sunday morning behind my buddies apartment and caught 7 bass and 5 perch all on 1/8oz spinnerbait. All were holding up on beds. This one was 2.6 pounds. Not impressive, but I wanted to show off my new stache.
