Pond fishing is so much fun. I'm taking my girlfriend monday morning somewhere around NO before the parades.
Hope I at least catch something.

LSU Lakes? One word... Bird Sanctuary (i guess thats two words). But you'll have to break in or do like me and put your bass boat in the lake
The bass in the big lake can be very hit or miss though. They have to really shut down when the weather changes. My biggest from LSU is just over 4lbs.
Here is my 6lb 6oz Urban monster from a few weeks ago, caught in a neighborhood pond in BR on jig!:

LSU Aquaculture Research Ponds off Ben Hur. In the early 90's we used to slay the bass and catfish in this place. This was before all of the development off Brightside. Used to park in the back of River Bend and slip in at night. Could catch 50 catfish in two hours. One pond had huge bass that would hit every cast.
Im sure we would have gone to jail if caught.

I have been catching some really nice bass in the ponds at my apartments in Prairieville. Tried to figure out how to catch them for about a week, and once I realized they love a watermelon baby brush hog...It was on! Oh and they love dem some pumpkin seed Texas rigged worms to.

Been fishing at the Masions at Ivey Lake, off of Airline. Bite has been great, but the Apt is gated though.

Before the current owners fenced it off I used to fish the pond on the south side of the drainage ditch by Brunet's Restaurant. There are/were some damn fine bass in there.
