I have a new interesting update. My Dad called me this morning after he got out of the woods, he was shaken. I've never ever heard my Dad scared of anything in the woods before. He's been a woodsman and hunter for 50 plus years and other than a few large boar encounters nothing has rattled him till this morning. Not too far from the track location, he was on his way to his stand. He was a couple hundred yards into a thick section of woods using his headlamp to light his path, when just out of light range two green eyes lit up. Dad's 6'4" and he was looking up at these eyes. He estimated about 7-8 feet above the ground and about 8" apart. He initially thought coons or something hanging off the side of a tree. Except when he took another step forward with his rifle aimed in that direction, he watched it turn and walk away from him in total silence. He froze and said it was such a strange feeling in the woods around him. He made it to his stand to wait till daylight to go investigate. He kept telling me how quiet the woods were this morning, no birds chriping, squirrels playing, or turkeys making noise. Even after I talked to him this evening he was still very unsettled. He didn't find tracks but he did say there was a path of laid down grass where it traversed. He did say next time in the woods, hes bringing his 44 mag loaded for bear instead of his 40 that he normally carries. He just kept saying how damn big it was.

It appears that you have a Sasquatch infestation. A family of them. You should call this guy:

Did you ever get an actual measurement of those tracks?

Lol, come on OP. So now there's something in the woods that's 6'4 with a size 1 shoe?

That original track was not made in dry dirt, it was made in mud that had dried. In mud tracks do all sorts of weird things when they slide, contract, etc. Without a better picture with actual sizes and sides its impossible to say.

That's not a human foot, look how the toes are. As said its probably a beaver, bear, rabbit, etc. that slid in the mud.

Tell your dad to carry a full auto M4 next time. When it happens again - and it will, tell him to drop to one knee, point the weapon in that direction and then press and hold the trigger till the 30 round magazine is empty. He will kill everything. Problem solved!

Now we’re talking!

I can’t believe OP doesn’t have trail cams set up yet.

Huh? No, I would assume this was the parent of whatever made the first track and that track was right at 8" in length. Even in a soft material it was a very clear print with minimal distortion. I know what mud can do to tracks. Look it's just as crazy to me as it is to you, I've now seen the original print and after talking to my Dad I believe there's something unexplainable on our lease. Take it for what it is. Something rather large, bear or whatever is roaming those woods. It's not out of the realm of possibilities, hell not too long ago they found a subspecies of elephant and a new large ape. Both you would think would have been noticed before.

Looks like 3-4”. Don’t ask how I can eyeball that.

Why not put out several game cams? Seems like an easy way to find out.

The whole track deal is kinda interesting, but this story stinks.

So he saw something he thought was coons, so he aimed his rifle at it?

Who walks into the stand with a light on? If it was a booger, he'd have left long before the light ever hit him.

It's the *width* of the boot in the pic... 4" maybe.
