I have a 50 year old Marlin Glenfield that I'm retiring. What are some quality options to replace? Will primarily be used for squirrel hunting.

Is there something wrong with it? If not, why retire it?

Any CZ will be quality. I also love the Browning SA22 for carrying in the woods. Maybe my favorite firearm I own.

I have a CZ 452 American in .17HMR, man I love that gun. Did have a trigger job done on it by a friend.

I just got a Ruger American 22 WMR. It does a number on the squirrels, just make sure to hit them in the head.

what is your budget ? Wood (blued) vs. Synthetic (Stainless) ? Do you want a $199 Savage or a $1499 Cooper/Anschutz ? Bolt, lever, or semi-auto action ?

I'll 2nd the CZ 452 which is a very accurate and priced around $400 ~ $450.

Marlin model 25 bolt action. It is very accurate and good looking too.

It depends on what you want. If you want a pretty wood/blued fancy bolt gun than you need a sako quad or a cooper. If you want a cheapo depot gun that you can leave in the boat year round than either a 10/22 or marlin model 60. Like lever guns? The Henry's are great and browning makes a very fancy one.

It just depends what you want. There are tons of options in all styles and price brackets. Give us more to work with

10/22 is more for fun imho.

Cz 452 is a great gun.

Savage mkii with accutrigger if you don't want to spend cz money (like me). I can keep a 1" group at 100yrds with standard velocity cci ammo.

Henry Lever Action. It shoots shorts and longs.

I see that they jacked up the prices on the 452s. I got my Lux maybe five years ago for something like $300 + tax. I think it was right around the time they were discontinued though

My budget is around $500, maybe a little more with scope.

I still enjoy my Marlin but would like to pass it down to my son. It's tube fed, and I can mix the bullet sizes, which is not really a big deal.

I've never shot another 22 rifle in my entire life, and I just turned 60 ??

I second this. I sold my Henry and bought the CZ 452 about a year ago. Great gun.
