I set my go pro on my center console, watching my backup camera when I'm backing up Mrs ICS. Fords version of inception.

Bump to thank everyone for their input, which appears to fall into one of the following categories:
1. Backup cameras, like much of today's technology, make my life easier and are worth the added cost.
2. Real men don't need a camera - they just backup to their trailer hitch and wait for the bump. Cameras are for girls and sissies.
3. No need for this new-fangled gadget. Men have been hitching up trailers for years without them. Ironically, some of these posts were made via mobile phones
In any case, all advice taken as provided. Thanks to everyone for their input.

I don't want one. One more thing to break.
They also mean you have to have a big screen in your cab which I likewise do not want.

I wouldn't buy a truck with one of those big arse tv screens in it. Mine shows up as a little square on the left side of the rear view. Extremely easy to see it, the rear view, and the side mirrors all at the same time.
Perfect positioning IMHO

This is how my dad's is set up on his 2012 Silverado. I agree that it's perfect. The big screen in the center dash isn't as good because you have to jump back and forth with your eyes. It's nice to have it all in one place.

Looking down while you are trying to look up at the same time ain't the way to go IMHO
They really are good for backing into parking spots and getting lined up perfectly to the trailer every time

some stupid arse talk in this thread. lets just ditch the ac units. power everything, and everything else new to trucks since the camera was first introduced. jesus, its CONVENIENCE, just like half of what in the trucks you have. uuuumm, i have one
. i just dont look manly cause folk never see me chin-up in the rearview or elbow wide hanging out the window.

Factory in my wifes car, I like it, very helpful in backing out of parking spots at the groccery store. It has a wide angle on it, so I can see around the cars beside me.
Uncle has it on his Yukon, hooking on the trailer is a breeze. But in all fairness, I get pretty damn close without it in my truck. I wouldn't put one on my truck, and wont worry about it when I buy a new one.
Wifes vehicle on the other hand, would probably be a deal breaker if it doesnt have it.

Mine does this.
I love it, my wifes truck doesn't have it, and it sucks.
I don't even have to wiggle my trailer to put it on, I just went to the last part of the thread, so I am sure with it being 5 pages someone is giving someone hell about it....but a backup camera=greatness.
