Hell, if you're going to use it as much as you claim in your later post, enjoy being on the water fishing, skiing, entertaining family and friends, have a wet slip to store it and can afford it, then go for it.

No, buy it, you only live once!

No brainer. Do it. If I lived on the water and have a slip there would be a boat of my choice in it.

I want to jump on the 2300 because it’s a great deal. Willing to sacrifice two feet in the meantime and go bigger in a few years.
Go bigger now, it’s always easier to go backwards.

As insane as this feels to say, $76k for a quality brand new 23 foot center console is a relatively good deal. I don't think i ever see them listed for under 100k from any maker.

Alls I know is they ain’t gonna get cheaper, so you might as well buy.

Take a look at this Blazer Bay 2200 in Galveston. Good boat and almost $20,000 less.

It’s a screaming deal for a boat that size. I don’t know much about Tidewater but that’s a great price for a boat that size.

Go ahead and buy it.
You’ll have a fantastic day at some point in the future when you sell it!

Take 76k and put it in the SP 500 make 10% return 7500 a year plus 3k worth of operating expenses a year is 10500 a year to go on 10 charter trips per year and limit out each time.
i do this already. I also want a boat so I can bring my kid and friends whenever i want based on the weather. Any good capt. requires you to book months in advance. If I book 10 charter trips, the chances of half getting cancelled due to shitty weather are pretty good lol.

I actually looked at that boat online yesterday. Maybe that's a sign for me to buy it.

Looks like a good boat but would be a downgrade from my Sportsman. Looking to go bigger than 22’ with at least 250HP.

The two happiest days will be the day you bought it and the day you got rid of it.

I like a lot about the tidewater layouts but ultimately removed them from my list.
I found the console side access door entirely too small. Very hard to get in there even on the 2500.
The front deck layout isn’t my preference. I would rather a flush deck instead of the recessed lockers that double as sitting areas. Also I think the rod lock only holds maybe 3 or 4 rods.
Overall their build quality didn’t seem up to par with comparable boats in their price range.
If you like that tidewater layout I would take a hard look at the Robolo Cayman line. I found the fit and finish much better than Tidewater.
If key west had a little better bilge access they would be at the top of my list because they make a great boat for the money.
Right now I am still waffling between the Sportsman and Blackjack. The Ranger 2510 has the perfect layout for me but the boat is extremely heavy and I don’t have much confidence in the Ranger brand anymore.

Nope. Neither can beat watching my son bring a cobia over the gunnel of our little bay boat or putting the whole family on a limit of hammer tripletail or my first real trip out in it with my BIL and not being able to close the cooler lid for all the trout... and too many other great days to count. If you won't use it, don't buy a boat, but mine probably hits the water >75 days per year. Worth every red cent.

Which sportsman do you currently have? Really like the looks of the 247s.

For whatever it is worth they are moving the salt water boats back to the original Ranger factory in Flippin, AR. The folks building the boats at that factory are a lot of the same ones who have been there for decades building the same way they always have. Pretty damn impressive facility

That’s good to know. I love the layouts of their 2360 and 2510. Excellent access to all mechanical areas and great fishing setup.
