Forgot about a alternator change? And how easy a job that was? Zero issues?

You don't need a tundra if you buy 3 trucks in 3 years

Only comment I have on it is from a friend that owns a Toyota dealer. He says he usually doesn’t believe in the whole “don’t by the first year of a new model” but he absolutely says if you’re going with the new model tundra to go with the 23 and not the 22. He says they’ve had a lot of problems with the 22 but the 23 seems to be great.

I was obviously being hyperbolic, but I can get 100-150 miles more per tank on my F-150 than my Tundra work truck and the tank sizes are the same (Tundra may actually be bigger).

Then just do it? Why are you asking us? There's no reason to trade a 2017 in with $96k miles from a financial perspective. If you want to spend the money then just do it.

Had a 2012 5.7 and averaged 14.2. About the same as my 2019 Ram (15 mpg)

Oh I know. Nobody buys a Tundra for the mpg. I get 14.5-14.9 with my 2016. Have never cracked the 15 mpg glass ceiling. Maybe one day.

I have a 21. Fantastic truck so far. I don't drive a ton so the mileage doesn't bother me much. I do get around 17mpg, which is about what I got on my f150.

I'm probably in most of the same groups. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. It would be disingenuous say that there aren't legitimate concerns with those trucks. Lots of people absolutely love them but there seems to be many many people citing quality control issues with them. Every time someone posts a problem with theirs its met with a gaggle of toyota defenders telling them its an easy fix or something that'll get worked out, despite the fact that they are brand new $60-90k trucks. I love the look and the upgraded features, but dropping that kind of money and having the issues that keep popping up would drive me insane.

By far, the biggest complaint is "wind noise." I waited I don't know how long for mine to come in and when drove it for the first time, sure enough, it had the wind noise. I told the dude straight up that even though I waited this long that I wouldn't buy it if they don't fix that. It wasn't loud, you couldn't hear it if the radio was on, but it would have driven me nuts if you wanted some peace and quiet or listen to a podcast

They ordered a piece the day I bought it (Monday), and had it replaced Friday. All it was is the weatherstripping was a two piece and they replaced it with a one piece. They have already fixed it for what is in production now from what those groups are saying.

I get that that is annoying as hell for some considering it is like you say, 60-90k. But it was a really easy, quick fix. I mean every model truck has recalls. If that's the biggest complaint, I can live with that. I haven't seen really any motor complaints, even with the Hybrid. For people who have never owned one like the other poster, to say they are crap, is just ridiculous. That's just a guy that is wanting to hate, probably because they don't have a v8 anymore.
