Deers can live off dew and ragweed…..I wouldn’t worry too much.

They have a small chance next weekend. I’ll probably throw seed out at the end of next week and take the hope and pray strategy.

I’m also in South Miss…. We don’t even try to plant in October until it rains, it’s always dry as hell this month. I always mix Iron Clay Peas, Clover, Oats and winter wheat…. Kind of an in home mix, works great.

If your seed beds are dry and you are covering your seed, I’d plant now. Seeds will be fine until it rains.

Last couple model runs show a front with rain coming in 10/28, 10/29 time frame. Let’s hope that trend continues!

yeah I'm seeing around a 55% chance of rain on the 27th.....I'll probably plant that weekend if it starts getting closer and holding true

275 gallon tote with a 12V pump. Never intended to water them, but I have the tote for watering and just grabbed a cheap 12V pump. Not ideal but it worked. First year I planted one and figured watering wouldn't hurt.

do you put the tote in the back of your truck bed and have some sort of boom set up? That’s over 2200# of water if the 275 gal tote is full.

I considered doing that in the past using a tote and hauling with my tractor but I calculated like 30 something totes to equal a 1/4” rain even. So that idea went out the window

I planted in Summit almost 2 weeks ago. I have no clue how its doing. I was hoping the dew could get it going and we would have rain by now but thats looking meek.

friend of mine made one of these and it worked good.

I thought he was nuts

In this video, Trey is showing you how he built the best deer food plot watering system. This also makes for a great Firefighting truck for your property.

There’s a 45% chance of rain on the 29/30th. I’ll probably plant that week since we should have some fronts coming and those should bring some moisture.

How big a plot are you watering with a 250-gal tote? That’s holding 0.01” of water for an acre of ground.
