I've never bought a suppressor before, but previously I was on here asking about the gun trust.
I'm asking the board for advice again. Looking for a suppressor for my .308. Bergara B14, so it does not need to be full auto rated

Based off of the googles, I've narrowed down to 3 suppressors
TBAC Ultra 9
CGS Hyperion
PTR Vent 1

For those that have used any or all of them, is there a clear leader? How do these hold up compared to a DeadAir? That's another I was pushed toward.
I'll be both target shooting and hunting.

Also, any other recs on the choice?

Are all great cans. You can compare them on pew science page.

Any of these would be great cans. another very good can for much cheaper is the Otter Creek

I don't have one but they are hard to beat for the price.

I do have the Q thunder chicken and it is a very good can.
I have a Cat White Bread on my .223 AR. It's incredible. Would definitely recommend the brand (not sure which one is for the .30).

I would shop based on the Pew science rankings.

Jay is a man of many words. Most of which I don’t understand. There was a whole lot of praise for the PTR Vent1 coming from a guy who seems to back his words with legitimate scientific data.

I have never shot a suppressed .308, so I can’t give you any personal recommendations. But if Jay says it’s good, and the data says it’s good… it’s probably good.

I'll have to look at them. I didn't look at any Otter Creek.
Thank you.

For hunting, you will want something shorter. CAT ODB, LPM Mach S or Anthem S, Otter Creek Hydrogen S, CGS Hyperion K. There are others. Go to PewScience and get familiar with his stuff. Sort by .308 and go to town. Jay is the only honest broker in silencer testing. Rule of thumb. A PewScience score of 35 at the ear is right about where I feel a silencer will shine and be “hearing safe” for me. Anything more is better.

If I remember right Pew ranked the CGS Hyperion as the quietest in that platform. That was the main reason I bought one for my 6.5, no complaints at all from me with the can, the weight of it is pretty amazing. Have a Otter Creek on a 556, it gets the job done for what it is.

Don’t have any of the ones you listed but

I have 6 Silencerco cans 2Omegas, SpectreII, Sparrow, and Octsne 9. Love all of them. Never had any issues and have put probably 10K rounds through them combined. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to buy another.

Welcome to the wonderful world of suppressors! Although this will be your first suppressor, I doubt it'll be your last. I started out planning to buy 1, a rimfire and a 30 cal. Now I've got 2 rimfire, soon to be three 30 cals and two 556 cans. I don't have any of your finalists, but I have some others. What'll you'll find is everyone's usually gonna recommend the suppressor and that's natural. After you've researched it, spent money and waited (one year for one of mine) you're going to recommend what you bought. Having said that, I recommend my Dead Air Nomad L. I don't recommend my SilencerCo Harvester 300, but it's been discontinued. I'm waiting to take possession of the Otter Creek Polonium 30. I like, and can recommend, my other cans as well for anyone who's interested: SilencerCo Spectre II (discontinued), SilencerCo Sparrow, Yankee Hill Machine Turbo K-RM and Otter Creek Polonium 556. I agree w/ the rec to do your independent research, esp w/ Pew Pew Science. I didn't do adequate research when I bought my Harvester 300 but instead I relied on the recs of the salesman. Keep us updated.
