Tore my left ACL 3x in the past 10 years (2015, 2019, 2025). Also had severe meniscal tearing that had to be cleaned up, but not replaced. 1st surgery was a patellar tendon graft, 2nd was quad graft, last was cadaver

Army docs never let it fully heal, and I finally got surgery by a competent doc. Most recent surgery was last November. First 2 surgeries were a pain in the arse, woke up with massive bruising and severe pain. Again, army docs are not known as the best. Tore it in 2015 and Army put it off for 2.5 years, finally got the surgery in 2018. When prepping for the 2nd surgery it was discovered the 1st surgery was done incorrectly, causing more significant problems that led to a HTO surgery to re-align the leg. Exactly how, I don't know. Apparently the leg was trying to compensate and caused twisting. (I'm not medical, this is what I was told)
Most recent was infinitely better, went through OrthoLA. Significantly less bruising and pain.
Just got cleared from rehab last month, with the notice that I will not be able to return to full activities till roughly 12 months post surgery. Was given a Breg brace, can't complain about it honestly. This is the first time I'm able to complete rehab.

If only they let non Muslims into Mecca. Those folks won't let the likes of you or me anywhere near their holy city.
We need to take a lesson from that.

Luggage Recs for my son

My son is going to a leadership event in DC this summer, and we're looking to get him a new checked bag.
What recommendations do yall have? We were thinking a medium size

***also, recommend hard or soft sided?
My boy is a Dutch Shepherd. Very uncommon breed in general, but especially here in the states. Cousin to the Malinois.

This boy is smart, strong, loyal beyond any dog I've ever had. He's my service dog but we also did a little with SAR in Colorado and he thrived there with that. I haven't found much he doesn't do. He will run for hours, and when I go inside he'll cuddle right up next to me till I'm ready to move. Dutchies tend to pick a person and will stick to that individual like glue. I got him at 14 weeks and he's been with me for nearly 4 years now.
They have a decent life span, 12-15ish years. You can look up the breed, they are some amazing dogs.

Amazing guard dog as well in the sense he will alert you but once I acknowledge him he goes silent. Very trainable dogs. Extremely high energy. Prey drive is off the charts.

He loves my kids and the family, and he doesn't react to our other dogs but that is his training.

Specifically, are those dudes the baddest mfs the US military ever produced? Reading stories and listening to podcasts about them and I’m really astounded that any of em ever came back.

Read the book Six Silent Men by Reynel Martinez.
I was lucky enough to meet the author and a few guys from the book. One of them is from Cut Off, LA.

I'd agree those are some of the baddest dudes the military has ever produced.

In this case it's probably the opposite.

Regular store bought FMJ 5.56 for an AR-15 typically conforms to 55gr M193 military FMJ standard.

55gr FMJ 5.56 ammo will aggressively fragment at something around or over 2700 fps as I recall, which standard 16.5" barrel AR-15's will have out to somewhere around 200 yards.

Conversely, actual hunting ammo for 5.56 tends to be soft point 65gr or heavier rounds and they as specifically designed to NOT fragment and instead flatten out wide with a straight and predictable internal trajectory upon impacting the body.

Are you retarded? Like another poster said, Kirk was killed with 30-06. Nowhere, other than you, was 5.56 brought up. :spank:

luckily enough for you, you’ve got a Son that was born to be a QB. Like every other coaches son in the history of 11-13yo flag football teams

My son can throw, but not well enough to be qb and definitely not well enough if someone is blitzing in. Plus he takes after me and is on the shorter side of the group :rotflmao:

Can you have a blocking back? Usually if rushers need to start 7 yards back from the LOS, you can’t block.

This is correct.

can you Qb run? that makes a big difference

also what are the blitz rules, makes a big difference.

The QB isn't allowed to run, and he's "so-so" scrambling.
Defense can blitz 2 kids, but the qb isn't allowed to cross LOS. Players blitzing have to start 7yds downfield.

Youth Flag Football help

I got voluntold into coaching flag football for 11-13 yr olds. I've never coached football of any sort, I'm looking for tips or advice to plays and whatnot.
Games are 6v6. We have a couple very good athletes and a good defense but lack a solid QB. Tips for practice would also be appreciated as well.

If this is the wrong board, let me know.

No. No we are not. These boys aren't going to fold like they did in Iraq. Your talking about fighting. Fighting means young men are dying

This has the potential to turning to the a middle east Ukraine

All of you turds that never had an skin in the game need to sign your kids up ASAP

War isnt glamorous at all.

And what of those who have had skin in the game?
Nobody thinks war is glamorous.

The statement is vets are more supportive "as a whole". Not everyone will have the same mindset but the vast majority of vets I've spoken to and worked with support the strikes.

I'd recommend either Dolly's Stampede or Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show. My kids loved both, but preferred the Pirates show.
Apple Barn Winery is also another potential stop.

We're going June/July when the kids are out of school.

What kind of hobbies are you thinking? How are you going to get electricity to it and are you going to cool it?

My wife does crafts, and she makes shirts for the kids' sport and school events. She also does crocheting and makes gifts for the family for Christmas and whatnot.
I plan to have a small corner learn how to reload my own ammo.

Power is simple, my dad is retired and he was an electrician. I'll work with him to get power to the shed. For cooling, I was juggling the idea of a window unit or I have one of those portable a/c units my wife used in her class when we lived in Colorado.

The intention is to have this little "workshop" for us to use instead of having all that crap in the living spaces in the house.

Again, I'm not the builder. I'd be providing the material and giving the assist. But if the pre-builts you guys are talking about have lasted it would be easier to go that route I think. I was mainly cautious about the quality of those and durability.

First thing is do you have the skills to build it. I built a big shed years ago, but I could not do it now due to my age. I would work up an estimate to compare it to a pre-built one. Factor in your time to build it. Don't forget your roof trusses.

I have a very good friend who is a carpenter and offered me his help if we build it ourselves. The frame and walls would be done in a weekend, according to him. I'd take care of everything interior

12x16 Hobby Shed

Posted by EnragedPlatypus on 2/20/26 at 6:57 am
Has anybody built their own 12x16 hobby shed? Want to put one in the back yard for the wife to do her crafts. Just want something solid that has the room to work comfortably. I'd have a work bench in one corner as well.

Or would it be better to just buy a pre built one? I'm worried about the pre built's ability to withstand weather in SE Louisiana.

Do you have access to a pool? Kicking with a kickboard and swimming laps would be great for you

Unfortunately not year round. I used to swim 4 days a week and it was the best exercise, but I don't have that option year round anymore
