So what is a good handgun to buy myself for protection?

Looking to buy a gun here in a few months and then get my conceal license. I just don't feel safe going anywhere anymore and what to be able to protect myself, friends and family. I will not be hunting with this gun, it will be in my night stand drawer at night at in my car during the day most likely.

I literally have zero knowledge about guns and I dont want to spend a ton. Maybe $500 max.

Thanks

You need to take some form of a class about guns. Google the 10 rules of guns safety before you walk into the class so you have some idea of what you will be hearing.

Then buy a revolver. Don't buy a semi-auto until you've become comfortable with guns.

Look at the Ruger LCR in a .38 special. With or without laser is another question for the OB entirely.

When I say I know nothing about guns I dont literally be nothing. I know general safety rules..I just dont know anything about guns as far as what is good and what is not or any ends and outs about them.

Take Hunters Safety course.

Go to an indoor range and get personal instruction.

Try a few weapons out there.

Listen to range consult.

Buy weapon.

Enjoy liberty.

Why not?

Is it looks or you really don't like the way they shoot?

Ruger SR9c for a compact double stack 9mm

Ruger LC9 for more concealable but less shooter friendly. Although Bapple CC's his SR9c.

I'm an SP101 fan big time for CC, but you'd have to go used to get away for less than $500
