Kemo Jr won a table last night at the Eunice delta waterfowl banquet that included a 17hmr. What scope does he want to add?

Make sure it has an adjustable objective if there will be any close shots at all.

He may never shoot it but it’s getting a scope. I was thinking vortex but it’s his decision. Heck he had planned to give it away until he saw it was a 17.
Table had;
Sport dog collar
Mustang inflatable
3 spinning wings
Dove decoys
2 dz hex bumpers
1 dog stand
Shell picker upper
Dove bucket
Banded soft cooler
Do all electric trap thrower

I have a Mach 2. When I first bought it, I just slapped a decent quality rimfire scope on it. Took it squirrel hunting and had a few close shot opportunities that ended up with a blurry image. I learned about the adjustable thing later buying airguns. Promptly replaced that scope.

Swfa 6x. Focus goes down to something like 10m and he can geek out on some long range shots.

That's a heckuva haul.

I'll give him what a Vortex Copperhead costs for the Sport Dog collar.

I have one with the heavy barrel and accutrigger. Absolutely love it. No idea how many years I've had it now. Came with a 3x9 weaver- that I've never had to adjust in who knows how many years.

So satisfying taking head shots on squirrels floating down the river!

Any decent 3x9 will do. Vortex probably be my vote in the 75-200$ range.

There is some fancy 17 specific scopes. But if you're 99% of the time taking shots at 75 yards or less there's no need.

NO DAMNED WAY!
That is way too little power for a 17HMR You want at least 16 tp 24 power to utilize the cartridge properly.

He should plan a prairie dog hunt out west. It's a lot of fun sniping them.

He told me last night that two trips to Kansas are on the books and it’s going with him. Also had the bright idea to steal the Leopold off my wetherby 22
